Sick of this nice guy stuff. Sick babying players because we don’t want to hurt their feelings. Sick of our fitness not being up to standard for years.
I want to be hated. I want to have players that get in opposition faces. I want players to care that they lose. I want our coaches to say this is not good enough in public.
It’s no fun being a team of nice guys.
I want us to spend money where it matters. Don’t get these untried people to be our fitness coaches.
Spend the money and then get the best.
Have a time limit in how long people can stay in a position at the club. Don’t let them get comfortable. Move Dodoro on. Say to the next person 5 years is all you get as a maximum unless you’ve proven to be the best. Then get someone new in.
Who cares if we annoy the media or a few players get upset. Nice clubs where you’re happy don’t always get the big names. Winning matches and flags makes you a club people want to play for and go to.
Hawks had years of not overpaying players and kept bringing in people. Why? The players wanted to win flags.
Club culture starts with little things like being 6 rounds into the season and still not having club photos of possibly our best player and the son of one of our greats.
This irks that Fark out of me that this little stuff can’t even get done.
They didn’t bother putting a photo up for Waterman for the entire year last year.
Key word there is “building”. There are absolutely no signs that we are building anything except lazy habits. Most supporters would be ok if we actually were building something, but we are not. We are nowhere. We have no structure, no leadership, no effort.
I don’t understand what everyone’s issue is?
We have steadily climbed the ladder each week. In case you guys haven’t noticed, we started at 18th and are now 15th.
By my calculations, if we continue to get belted each week, a top 4 spot is not out of reach.

There are soo many things like this that reflect poorly on the club….have a look at the reserve setup……and as also mentioned before the lack of communication to AFL club support members + not offering away reserved membership….what kind of a club are they? A selfish entitled club.
You’re overrating our list.
We have a better list than North and Adelaide.
The rest have enough better performed players who don’t have a massive gap between their best and worst that they’ll beat us more often than not.
You are correct though. With better coaching, getting the best out of players, great fitness regime and fantastic training, we could have a ‘some of the parts’ better team. But we’ve never been that kind of team. Not now and not in our Sheedy years. It’s always been about overwhelming the opposition with a great deal of talent (albeit mixed in with hard working role players).
If we are not seriously considering picking up the phone to Clarkson then we are doomed.
Have arguably one of the great coaches of all time potentially available for next season you go after him. Idgaf If the players like truck, you get someone who will bring results. And Clarkson is the best at that in the modern era
