Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 2, March 2022)

Would X and Brasher and the board really want an abrasive feather ruffling says it like it is type coach at the club, don’t think they have the stomach for it, by the way I’m in the keep truck camp.

Clarkson had 0 finals wins in his last 6 (six!) years.
Would be maybe the stupidest idea I can think of, other than the evergreen Ross Lyon suggestion.

He probably also knows where the skeletons are buried

People who back themselves to get the results. Any coach for example who starts with the expectation of being gifted 5 years regardless of performance is the wrong person for that job.

Bwahah X using his journo contacts to make out he had a chance. Drops out of race he was never even a sniff of a chance to get the gig.

What a looser.

He’s knocked the AFL back twice now to stay at Essendon.

Which is, obviously, proof he’s a fraud and only wants the AFL job, or something something.

OK

No, too hard to find one of them.

Remember the ‘voluntary contribution’ added to Club membership renewals about 8 years ago which was opt out, rather than opt in? Or when everyone at EFC was declaring 20 years ago that we were ‘the Manchester United of the AFL’? Or the short-lived computer games team? Or the nonsense of asking the question of the members about whether the Football Club ought to buy an NBL franchise. Seriously?

So many of these little examples over the years - let alone being the only club in league history to be excluded from the finals - make you wonder what this Club is all about.

“No hiding on Anzac Day”?

I wish. If they play as they have been, we are likely to cop a massive hiding.

Agree with almost all that you said.

But the expression is “sold down the river”. Unless you meant “up ■■■■ Creek”.

You are confusing the direction of your watercourses.

Perhaps, we need to put all our players and the Coach on notice. Bomb out this season men and you’ll find yourselves in the draft or being delisted.

This has been going on for far too long. Time for drastic change.

Exactly. Essendon’s biggest problem in the past twenty years has always been thinking the answer is just over there. :point_right:
From Evan’s attempts to fix the supplement saga to recruiting coaches, fitness staff, CEO’s, board members, with no proper recruitment or selection process.
If you are not prepared to go out to get the best available then results will always be questioned.

United are currently a rabble but don’t lump them in with Essendon. United have still won numerous trophies in the last decade :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Why are people saying there is something wrong with the club. This is the Club we all know, the only club my children have known. There is nothing wrong with the club, this is who the club now is!

I feel we really missed an opportunity with the Raptor, though.

Spot on both of you.

This club has no back bone, it is ■■■■ weak. Believes its own stories it makes up about itself. The way we are playing we will be lucky to beat the two bottom teams. The development of young players who go backwards at this club, rather than improve with time.

Time for the Board and Essendon Executive to wake up and own what they’ve done and what they have created. When the Board invited David Evans back to the Club and gave him membership, the club lost many of us. We saw the writing on the wall.

Sadly Essendon is a club going nowhere. The Essendon Malaise is contagious.
Truck simply does the Woosha/Truck shedding. If this is his best, its not good enough.
Another nice bloke. The whole place needs a broom.

This is how low the standards have become at this club. Get rolled in another final and then the internal expectation is to go backwards?
Members and supporters are being sold an absolute lemon once again by this amateur joke of a club.
It’s become a deadset chore attending games, embarrassing.
