The recent past has been very painful hasn’t it? Flight Plans, Drugs, mediocrity, no finals win etc. It is depressing.

He didn’t want the senior coaching role, he agreed to come across to assist Hird in a “senior” role. He was tired of being a senior coach.
He was on the gear while he was coach of Geelong. They knew it and turned a blind eye.

Hird was responsible as much as anyone. I can’t stand him anymore and he was my first childhood hero

EFC missed out on the fitness coach of choice and the Weapon was the only one available at short notice, his terms were to bring Dank with him. No doubt Travis Auld gave the Weapon a glowing reference.

who created the situation where dank and robinson were hired ?
again the coach is the leader of teh club and it’s direction, he made alot of poor decisions that lead to the outcome that happened.
hird had from memory no coaching credentials, he wasn’t a assistant coach anywhere and you only have his playing days as evidence he was a good leader which he may well have been, but how much of it was him, and how much of it was sheedy ?
he was not a good appointment and it’s not re writing history, it’s a neon light flashing fact.
it was a rushed job to appoint a guy who didn’t have the experience or no how to run a football club and it was done to appease a bunch of senior players who cracked the sads that big bad matty knights was destroying the fabric of teh club and needed a favourite son to suppposedly appease these big bad boogiemen supporters who can’t handle waiting for success, despite continued record growth in supporter numbers despite no actual success years down the track.
To be fair I reckon a lot of other high profile people are on the gear or what the cool kids are doing these days
