With the exception of free tickets to last weeks hawks game, this is the least I’ve ever watched us play.
A quarter, maybe less is all I can take these days.
How many clubs go 20 years without being higher than 7th??? Throw a drug saga in there as well.
Honesty, how can you go 20 years, in a 16-18 team comp and not once get above 7th?? Makes me ■■■■■■■ sick.
The last time this club was top 4, the twin towers were still standing.
It’s quite sobering to think I may never see Essendon achieve anything of note again in my life. They can’t even win a ■■■■■■■ final, let alone a flag.

We are everything our critics have always said we are.
Soft, entitled, upper class toffs.
Only care about how much money we make and lining our players and officials pockets.
The key people at our club simply don’t care about football. They only use the club to set themselves and each other up financially.
Big end of town, property deals, coteries. That is what the Essendon “Football” Club’s business is. Oh, and put the minimum amount of effort in in the football department just to keep the members from getting too angry.
We hate the AFL but we are the most “AFL-ish” club in the league. We are frauds

Same ■■■■ different week
If Rutten or any of the so called leaders at the club see this, it should be a line in the sand moment. But it won’t be. Heppell will invite Sheil over for dinner and offer cuddles and smiles.
I saw this quote last night from the eagles’ chairman given their terrible year so far.
I can assure you that they are both realistic about what needs to be done and are also determined to work extremely hard to ensure our team is set up for sustained future success.
This will include the rebuild of our list with a heavy focus on the AFL draft
And it reminded me of this from Brasher leading into 2021
I don’t think it’s a rebuild at all. I think we’ve got a team that’s capable of doing some good, but we’ve got to be realistic about the fact it’s a very young team. But we do expect to play pretty well this year.
No wonder expectation are always ■■■■■■, the club can never just say we’re bad and it’s going to take a while to fix. It’s always a little knowing “we don’t want to put limits on what we achieve”.
We were dog ■■■■ in 2020, a bunch of players walked out, we were dog ■■■■ at the start of 2021, we turned it around to become okay, got ■■■■■■ up in a final, then we started this year off dog ■■■■, and for some reason half a season where we weren’t dog ■■■■ is where we think we’re at.
I don’t know, sack the coach again, splash out big on some big name, get the memberships up again, finish 8th, get ■■■■■■■ belted. Just never admit that maybe we’re just another ■■■■ team and it’s going to take years to fix.

for ‘leaders’ they have no ■■■■■■■ idea about setting expectations.
if you’re honest with the members and say this is going to be a ■■■■ process that will take a bit but we’re doing a review and hiring people to get it done right, you’ll have people on side for a few years while you do it.
if you keep saying ‘we believe the list is finals capable’, well boy oh boy wowee, dont act surprised when the members get a bit feral.
