Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 3, August 2022)

Lot of fiction in that article, and many here have fallen for it.

Never trust a journo like Robbo, it is not a story of fact, just his opinion.

on a somewhat sidenote, do people think supporters (or people in general) will get the full version of the review released ?

Nothing would ever get done, maybe a new coach by the end of 2024.

i think we’re more likely to win a flag next year

Yeah, because suing the media will keep things off the front pages.

Also having past presidents come out and say stuff hardly paints the picture the current administration have things under control.

I’m just catching up on this issue but if that article isn’t an obvious Sheedy PR push after the backlash to his comments last week, then I don’t know what is.

Essentially ‘Robbo’ the perfect ghostwriter for him.

Just appoint a new CEO already and everyone will get over this shitfest. Coach already in place and no going back now despite all the sooking still happening.

Get rid of the Essendonians, coterie groups etc (The Red Sash) while we are it. I would rather have volunteers like myself rattling tins (North style) than have these toxic ■■■■■ and their money anywhere near this club. They’ve been one of the main reasons the club has been such a debacle for a long time. Too much inflated power and so called influence. Get ■■■■■■ and don’t come back.

Rent a quote Allan Hird at it again. Please.

The Hirds, Sheedy, Little etc need to be ostracised from the club, keep them the fk away in any capacity at all costs.

Respect the past and keep them there.

We genuinely need to start again as a new club with Essendon in name only.

where there is sheeds robbo and cgates, there is AHird

drop essendon to edfl, add keilor to afl, the only way

Would rather the AFL took over the licence and installed there own men like the Brisbane Lions than have Sheedy, Hird and Little in charge of the club.

We didn’t have to not sack Rutten and approach Clarko and then sack Rutten.

We didn’t have to have our new president give his first press conference clearly unprepared for the questions likely coming.

We didn’t have to hire our CEO without due diligence.

What he meant to say is ‘He didn’t pick my boy as coach so he has to go.’

No we didn’t, but the level of changed has cause stress, caos and a lot of ■■■■ to sort out. You’re going to ■■■■ it up a bit. The hope would have been not as much as we have. But it is what it is, we have to live with it and move on.

I think this might be where we’re heading. That’s the thing with these fiascos: once the number of stuff-ups begins to accumulated, people become increasingly reactionary, panicked and look for a certain fix.

I cannot see that we have the stability or wisdom now to turn the boat around ourselves. Sadly, outside intervention is maybe the safest option.

Exactly.

Why do we care about the opinions of these old board members and coteries…because they’ve got a lot of money. ■■■■ that noise. These people aren’t in touch with real members, their concerns and perspectives. They live in this little bubble where I’m sure the club sucks right up their ■■■■■■■■, telling them how valued their opinion is and how the club couldn’t function without them…further inflating their egos.

We’re paying attention to the role people.

I think the article is suggesting the selection process was a sham and the job was Scott’s as soon as he was interested.

So the only reason you barrack for the team is the name?

You don’t have to cause chaos to get change.

The approach taken to this point fills me with no confidence.

I just want smart people running the club. If they get a decision wrong I don’t mind.

Lot of angst among past players (well past).
Going public very soon.

Sheeds has framed it that way as he believed it was a sham to appoint Hird.

now what ?
