Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 3, August 2022)

and any other club bar us and carlton, i’d agree that it’s most likely just a conincidence. our club and carltons historically don’t work that way.

it’s like saying it’s just a coincidence Robbo is now writing these articles with seemingly inside knowledge of what’s gone on the last few weeks. it’s almost like he was there in the room were all the people where and the decisions were made. coincidence that.

you’re talking to someone who says coteries are just nice people cos all the ones he’s attended (while not being a member) that don’t go into any intricate detail about how they donate money and expect favours and special treamtent for it, like they are a evil villian in an austin powers movie where they detail their intricate plans at world domination to randoms for the hell of it.

I get what your are saying, and I can’t sugar coat that one at all, he should never have been appointed solely due to the banking business fiasco.

But I still believe Barham is the man to lead us through all of this crap and we will be better out the other side.

I love that he has been the instigator of change but the 3 fiasco’s with Ruttens sacking, AT’s involvement in the external review and subsequent appointment as CEO have to have consequences given the fallout of the last 2 fiasco’s especially.

None of barhams stuff happens if sheedy doesn’t cross the floor. Therefore this is sheedy the stable genius fault

Some Blitz Posters “X is leaking to the media!”
Sheedy: “Hold my :wine_glass:

Hisgrove should step down for the Thornburn selection.

Barham remains in place to sweep the place out, install an appropriately qualified CEO. I don’t want Barham as Chairman for the longterm. He’s a disruptor, it’s messy, there are missteps but he needs to focus on cutting the tumours out of the club.

Then there should be a board spill. The existing one’s can nominate themselves but member choose. No more appointment for friends.

I will say though, so much for the idea that Sheedy was just a disinterested, senile, old man who was just phoning it in and couldn’t care less.

He’s been friggin knee deep in this sh*t.

Part of me is impressed how close he actually got to pulling off the absolute unthinkable.

Hand the keys over to the AFL and let them run us. Can’t be any worse

Dont speak to me like you do Aaron Francis.

Barham has my support to have made these changes he has.

The sooner this club moves on from Hird, Sheedy etc the better.

Otherwise thats all this fkn club will ever exist as, Sheedy and Hird FC. Like a fkn laughing stock relic.

Theyre either there or when theyre not there its all about when we can get them back to “unite” the club.

Fk off.

This club may aswell fold if it goes down that path again.

Its finished.

And Allan Hird can write its obituary and devote it all to his son with a token line about the other 125 years of the club without him.

Frenz become nme’z

The AFL already has the keys and keeps its franchisees under tight control. They can’t appoint anyone without Gil and Dillon’s nod.

Exactly.
Scary to think that the old fools cunning plan was so so close to eventuating and having Hird parachuted into the job.
Clean the lot of the Hird cultists out especially all leaking to that fat pig Robbo

With all this ■■■■ going on… thank Fark we didn’t appoint Yze. Poor bloke probs thinking he dodged a Clarkson sized bullet

They don’t have the keys fully like some clubs where the AFL makes the board appointments

Please correct me if my memory has failed me but wasn’t Sheedy shown in the crowd laughing as we were getting flogged by Carlton?

@Stallion speaks for me.

Sheedy & Hird think it’s their Football Club, and they can play around with it.

It’s time to move on guys. And let new memories be made.

Many on here have been saying that we need to rid ourselves of the reliance on revenue from pokie machines and gambling (and I agree). But just as importantly we need to wean ourselves off the teat of the coteries. They only have influence because of the money.

Just expunge the Hird name from the club, take the Hird name off everything, hand back to the family what they have given to the club, including the grandfather’s premiership medal
Maybe it’s getting to the stage that the family don’t want their name to be associated with what’s become of the club

When he first started hanging around the club as that ‘ambassador’ someone asked him who he’d support in a GF between us and GWS. His choice? GWS.
