They have been smart, and they are now. Smart people make dumb mistakes all the time.
I think as much of what has happened has been bad. There has been good too.
I think itâs pretty disingenuous of Robbo to claim a sham process for Scott whilst advocating a sham process for Hird was not followed. An independent panel interviewed candidates and chose Scott. The board endorsed the recommendation. The panel process was intensive as indicated by several candidates and Scott was part of it early and late and indicated he was put through the same hoops as everybody else. Appears more like Robbo running a narrative for Hirds sake than stating facts.

Zero curiosity in attaching any blame to the anonymous leakers.
Important to remember that part of the reason this saga has âcaptured the imaginationâ of everyone is âviolentâ, urgent commentary. Instead of trying to work things out, itâs been volley after volley of stupid overreactions. Blitz is a microcosm of this.
There appears to be no single voice calling for calm, no statement of reassurance to the public, nothing.
Unless the club gets a hold of this soon, we are going to be victims of our foolishness, and the AwfL of all people will take control.

All Members have the same rights. Lots on here continually bag Coteries, when I know that they are boys and girls who love the Bombers, like watching them win and love drinking anything put in front of them.
Who are these nameless people who throw cash around and want to splinter our Club ? I hear this crap from many here and I have tried to find these people. No doubt their are some who think their money buys influence, just like in the rest of our society, but the Board is quite capable of screwing up without their input.
Seriously most of this is generated by Journos trying to make a story out of vapour. Barham deserves a chance, just like a new coach or new CEO.
The last four Club Leaders, have really not progressed us anywhere. Evans through Hird and the rest under the bus and farked us completely, Little for all his bluster toed the line and let Hird and 34 players take the fall, Tanner was like the large garden gnome in my backyard, looked experienced and was polite, but did fark all to move us forward, and Brasher had great intentions, but is more of a farking dinosaur than me.
And Xavier Tanner; well whenever there was an issue, the first people he spoke to were our sponsors.
Dont blame these faceless people who are âsplinteringâ the Club. They are a myth.
Many rich and successful business people in the clubâs circle have misplaced confidence in their own abilities.
They once set out to make money, often in finance/accounting and property, which is all about transferring wealth to yourself and little elseâŚand they succeeded. Good on you⌠now fark off.
The ability to line your own pockets in these industries doesnât mean you possess skills transferable to anything else. Yet, the Caseys and Brashers, the Littles, the Welshes, Thorburns etc. of the club, think they can run a not-for-profit footy club because theyâve made money⌠in property and finance⌠as nonsensical an argument as you can get.
Some humility amongst these farkers, enough for them to step back and let those with bona fide, self-made sporting success (Wellman and Welsh donât qualify) take over, is what is needed.
Fat chance that will happen anytime soon however

The Club has moved on from Hird and Sheedy. Scott is the new coach.
And GAGF on Aaron Francis, I served my penance for that and made my amends with him.
