Who knows??? Thats Kingās pointā¦no one knows what weāre trying to be or how weāre intending to play. We need to make changes and there are certain players who need to lift.

Think the club has and players have said they want to be a team that locks it in the forward half and has repeat entries. We havenāt looked like it except for 1 1/2 qtr against st kilda. Thatās what they are aiming for. Unfortunately what they want and are doing are polar opposites.

tbf we were doing that OK for 1.2 quarters against Port.
They then got a few easy entries and goals out of the CBAs and as we all know, went to water after that ā¦

In my opinion, 1 of the problems with Essendon is that they are trying to move the ball with short kicks out of our back line, my guess is to reduce the risk of turn over. I donāt think it works when the team is fatigued and the opposition donāt give you the space as Port didnāt. I believe it just leads to more turnovers that invariably turn into opposition scores. Just my take. But it annoyed the ā ā ā ā out of me last year, especially in the second half when we played like this. It worked on occasion, Dreamtime comes to mind. Although overall i donāt like it as a tactic. Brisbane play a little like this and came close to winning it all. So what do i know.
Thats right, we have a way we want to play but the players arenāt executing. We have so many poor decision makers in the side who just donāt use the football well. Draper, Parish, Martin and Redman have to lift this week.

Yea agree with you there. I feel for Martin as I think his performances are less effort but the coaches pulling the wrong strings. Put him on a wing.
