Something seriously wrong with the club (Part 3, August 2022)

My style of rebuild is to delist everyone except Caldwell, Caddy, Merrett, Durham, Duursma and Vigo. Am I going a bit too far? I just think they are all a bunch of pelicans. No offence to pelicans but they cant play footy well.

Only went to one game that year was against Melbourne.

Seeing fans clap off the players and cheering like they won becuase they made a comeback against North was one of the most embrassing things ive witnessed

Much better to see unhinged grown men screaming down to players walking off and comment on a players ■■■■■.

I find it bewildering that a club that survived the catastrophe of the saga would be reluctant to undertake a deliberate, longer term rebuilding of the list with clear communication to supporters around that. I mean, as many have pointed out, we’ve suffered immeasurably worse as a supporter base than a farkin’ rebuild! If there is one thing we are elite at, it’s putting up with prolonged pain as a result of our sporting team choices. We should fear nothing on that front.

Even if only half our supporters rocked up during rebuild years it would still be more than other teams can boast about.

It’s not all that would have shown the players that its ok to lose

I’d rather anything else but to watch Wright drop marks, Gresham run around like a headless chook, Redman gifting opposition players the ball, McKay lose 1 on 1 all day, get the ball inside 50 for no forward pressure and for it to rebound out of our 50 so easily with loose players everywhere. God it makes me sick

I actually agree with you, unlike many, that 2016 was awful. It’s not that a rebuild wouldn’t potentially produce seasons like that, it’s that it is a more hopeful approach than doing another 20 years of this. 20 more years of this sounds like Hell.

Would you rather the feeling you have now? We need to change something around. Its bloody groundhog day. Mate look at my nickname. Sameold, look at my user profile and when i signed up to blitz again… 2013. Its the same ■■■■ 11 years later

Because there’s massive risk in a full rebuild. Its not like rebuilding promises any kind of success. Its really not necessary. All we need to be doing is replacing problem areas/players with upgrades either through the draft, free agency or trade.

Farking spare me that

So you are happy to sit through the same ■■■■ from the same players year in year out

The coach gives mixed messages said it’s a 8 year plan … why is he playing Kelly heppel sheil then?

Horses for courses …lol he’d never make it to a Wednesday provincial meeting with this team let alone the first Tuesday in November

If we stripped the list when he came in played a mixture of the kids the supporters would be fine…

Clubs have won GFs and rebuilt while we languish
mid table with a meaningless fort all club !

We are the laughing stock of the league

Yep rebuilds are hopeful nothing more. i look at North they have been bottom four and collecting draft picks for a good 5 years and they still look like rubbish

I didnt call myself on here same old for no reason and this was back in bloody 2013. They need to change their bloody direction!

Alot of people actually enjoy going to watch and support a young group grow.

How many people have said that they loved the year the team got suspended? This whole idea that we demand success no matter what, is just rubbish.

If we made the tough and decisive decision of going down full rebuild path (including sacking the whole recruitment team), I’d sign up as a member again.

Because atleast they have finally made a tough decision.

If people stopped using the terms nuclear, burn it to the ground, strip it bare and north Melbourne, Nino may buy in.
