Sorry Saga - Why do we fight?

I would get my hopes up high - because it is most likely true re TB4 - except for the fact he was giving some players ‘thymosin’ so why the fark won’t he tell us where that came from?

Might be interesting after all:

Ever so slowly, at a trickle’s pace, be very interesting to hear what this document actually contains. Might be some nervous people around the place right now.

A receipt would be a good start.

Is this a copy of Danks statement to the ACC before ASADA got involved? From 2011?

It sounded like it’s a recent sworn affidavit that Dank provided as part of a lawsuit that’s set for next year. I assumed this may be Bruce Francis’ case in the AAT but it wasn’t specified, that’s just the only action I know of.
There wasn’t really too much detail aside from Dank’s affidavit stating that he’d never taken possession of TB4 while working at Essendon, although Warwick did mention there’d be more to come over the next few days.

So the friggin piece of ■■■■ suddenly decides years after the fact - and way after vast numbers of people have had lives ruined/impacted -to actually provide sworn testimony!?

Nup, don’t get your hopes up. An utter scumbag who has clearly only ever served his own perceived interests, and this will all amount to nothing of material use.

Yep.
No hope, expectation or forgiveness heading in that direction.

Given Dank’s behaviour and lack of direct assistance throughout the whole period I think one would not believe what he has to say - sworn affidavit or not. Reckon it holds little to no credibility.

It’s over.

Dank has zero credibility. Bible aloft or not. Nobody trusts him.

I don’t believe it is over.
I don’t know how long it will take for people to realise this whole thing was a building using its foundations to build the parapets and they were made out of air in the first place, but it will happen.

No argument with any of this.

From a legal point though, a sworn affidavit is far more evidentially significant than anything ASADA or WADA ever advanced in any case against the players. If it directly contradicts the tangential and tenuously circumstantial case on which the players were suspended, it’s pretty problematic for the entire outcome unless (or until) Dank can be cross-examined.

In terms of Dank’s motives for waiting so long to give such a statement, there are a number of collateral reasons why that might be. None of them good (or necessarily legal), but the delay might not be because of anything that’s prejudicial to the players’ innocence.

He was never actually charged with administering it was he?

As far as motives go for keeping quiet, “not getting shot at anymore” is one I understand.

Statute of limitations maybe? It has been nearly 7 years (fark).

You’ve been watching too much television.

I think the above is one possibility.
Another, discussed many times on here is possible financial fraud.
A 3rd is he purchased from a non-regulated supplier.
A 4th is he purchased a product called thymomodulin but which is a blend of many peptides and he knows there is a problem or is unsure of all components.
A 5th is Alavi didn’t do the required QA.

I doubt a 6th motive is that he just doesn’t care about the players’ innocence because that verdict ruined his career as well.

Many possibilities and only he knows what the problem was with the thymosin supply. I really want to read it.

So many scenarios

The other is that the process with ASADA was clearly flawed/corrupted - as we saw from the players ASADA did whatever they wanted. If Dank had come forward would it have mattered? I guess we will never know.

It’s only now that the sports integrity unit been created that actually is above ASADA IIRC that any traction being gained both from FOI requests (that ASADA previously blocked - including when they actually added TB4 as banned) and hopefully with this AAT hearing
