Lions, Dockers, Cats, Swans and now likely the Suns All lost after their byes. Only Saints how won post their bye… beating Swans… who ironically came off a bye

I’m sending a bit of exuberance coming into some supporters with Dockers thrashing yesterday. Many on Twitter lining up a win next week and going past Saints etc.

Coming off the bye is a banana skin risk. Dockers likely to come out strongly after external and internal pressure. It’s a game we have little right to feel too confident on imo. It will be a great win if we can get it done with a rebounding Dockers team at their ground awaiting.

I’ll wait to see how Dees go off the bye against Cats before worrying about it.

But on the flip side, that may help us playing Port off the bye right?

Well we’ll be coming back from Perth that week.

Only 3 have won after playing in Perth the week before.

We were one but it was one of our worst performances (north)

So we’re unlikely to win against Freo because we’re coming off the bye and not many teams have won off the bye.

And we’re also unlikely to win against Port, who are coming off the bye, because we’re playing in Perth the week before and teams are even more unlikely to win after the Perth trip?

These rules are tough!!.

I’m obviously joking by the way. Don’t think the bye makes much difference. And given the Tigers just backed up a win against Freo in Perth, with a win against the Saints, it shouldn’t be a factor either.

Bar Brisbane, the sides you mentioned were all expected to lose.

As poor as Dockers were yesterday… they had been better this year than GWS

So are we according to the odds. Somehow!

was so fun yesterday to rub it in my freo supporting mates that are cocky enough to think theyll beat us next week haha

They very well could.

But it shouldn’t be an expected win. For either team.

The first quarter will be key.

If we get a flying start, Freo’s already shaky confidence will take a hit.

If we start sluggish post-bye, the crowd will get behind them and they may remember how to play.

Should be a tight game either way, with a margin of around 20 points to the winner.

It will come down to mindset as to who wins. If Dockers breathe fire, it’s going to be difficult to win. Hopefully not.

Still a concern that no one has won coming off the bye, not counting the Saints victory, who beat the Swans, after both had the bye.

Freo are hot trash, should not be the hardest game of the season
