Speculation about changes v Free Kick Hawthorn

Feels like the VFL have a fkn bye every month.

Our VFL fixture goes: one match, bye, seven matches, bye, five matches, bye, five matches.

Assuming all are fit…
In Shiel, Stringer, Fantasia
Out: Baguley, McNeice, Begley

I’d imagine Fantasia will be the most likely of the 3 with Shiel. Stringer is the one who’ll be touch and go, probably likely to miss with Begley to stay in.

B: Ambrose - Hooker - Saad
HB: Redman - Hurley - McKenna
C: McGrath - Parish - Merrett
HF: Stringer - McKernan - Fantasia
F: Tippa - Francis - Laverde
R: Bellcho - Heppell - Shiel

INT: Langford - Zaharakis - Clarke - Guelfi

Geez we should be better than 5-6 with that team.

in: Shiel, Fantasia, Ridley
out: McNiece, Baguley, Francis

Francis decision was a struggle to come to terms with but no free rides.

Hawks after a bye is probably the worst time to play them. Give Clarko an extra week to prepare.

The AFL must giggle when they give us a Friday game and then follow up with a 6 day break and a trip to Perth with us up against the reigning premier coming off a bye.

Is there a more perfect formula to fark us up?

Wouldn’t Risk Stringer, 6 day break between hawks and eagles to get him right for eagles

Begley stiff but someone has to give way for Fantasia

Stop the hate with Francis. 2 Wet games in a row. Key forwards are not suited to this. McKernan wasn’t much better! Having said that, I would prefer if Francis was played down back as 3rd tall. I don’t count Hurley as a tall anymore coz he plays on smaller forwards most of the time.

Early on in this match I want to see Begs straight line it like a truck through Sicily’s rib cage, then gather turn and slam through a goal. Set the tone.

I have Sicily in my supercoach team, so no long term injuries please.

Hoping for:
In-Fantasia, Shiel, Ridley, Stringer (if ready)
Out-McNiece, Zaharakis, Baguley

In: Shiel Fanta Brown.
Out: Bags Begs McNeice

Francis goes back to recapture that form of late last yr. McGrath goes back to cover Pupolo or Bruest.

Brown forward with McKernan as two talls.

Fanta/Tippa forward with Lav as third tall.

Ambrose Hurley McGrath
McKenna Hooker Saad
Zaka Shiel Redman
Langford Brown Fanta
Tippa Smack Lav

Rk- Belly Hepp Zerrett

Int- Parish Guelfi Francis DClarke

I didnt think a lot of Hawthorn V Brisbane on the weekend.

Was an entertaining game, but I think we can roll them.

Absolutely.

Big Boy McEvoy won’t be back.

Wingard out, Sicily is an outside chance of getting suspended.

We will probably go in as favorites if we get Shiel, Stringer and Raz back

Sides coming off the bye oft lose. I think it is great timing.

Well that puts an end to that…

There’s no hate for Francis. Don’t be so childish. But 4 of his 5 games as a forward have been poor or very ordinary. Time to try something different

Got no hate at all for Franga either, but the experiment up forward isn’t working, either he goes back to the twos or gets thrown down back, but who does he replace?? It’s a solid 6 at the moment

This is what happened last time the Hawks beat us by 4pts.
Obviously, you can’t expect to get the result when you give 4 players this many looks at goals.

This time Gunston will have Ambrose follow him around the ground.
Won’t have a physical advantage, nor a fitness advantage.
Anyone on Blitz who suggests another match up for Gunston should be given a WOB type BAN.

Breust was played close and physical by Robertson against Brisbane, and struggled to have his usual influence.
We need to keep him honest.
Saad or Redman ?

Smith came back from injury and had little influence.
He worries me though, so damaging with his run, carry and penetration.

At a hunch, I’d say Shiel plays for sure, Stringer 50/50, and they give Raz 1 more week.
1 of Gleeson or Ridley will likely come into the side also.
Too good for VFL !
