Redd Kross were brilliant! Super show

Lucky you went.

Have you checked the footy scores?

Yep. So was able to watch the Redd Kross doco this morning instead of bothering with any replay of the game.

Be good if these festivals made public a breakdown of their costs have been over the years so it’s transparent where the increase in costs have been.

I understand they had poor tickets sales, but I wonder if margins have been compressed as well.

Would also be good if promoters trading on the goodwill of an event rolled previous profits in to future proofing it rather than registering a seperate, legally distinct entity evey year that can be liquidated without access to previous years assets.

I thought why announced last year that they weren’t doing it anymore…so the songs were there.

It could’ve been an entirely new company that was doing the management, I guess.

Seems shifty

Shifty as hell.

Last year was meant to be the “Last ever” Bluesfest.

At least John Farnham had the decency to not cancel all of the tours he did after his “last ever” tour.

And rug stores might not actually be closing down, but at least you get your rug.

How can one watch that? I listened to a few podcast interviews about it a few months back and it sounded really cool.

Bought the dvd at the gig.. like you, had seen promos for it but never seen how to get or see it. So jumped at the chance to get a copy.

Ironically, I just saw it was screened with a q&a with Jeff and Steve yesterday arvo here in vic. Shame I missed that.

It’s a great doco about the brothers. I thought I was quite familiar with the bands story but was just so interesting and some incredible stuff I had never heard about. Highly recommend it.

went to Linkin Park last week. Was a good concert - obviously Emily is no Chester, but I think she was a good choice as new lead singer - her voice suits the songs. She did seem like she was struggling at times though, and I note the Adelaide concert was cancelled, so I wonder if it was because of that. The best part of the night was watching my 10 year old nephew enjoying the music!

Off to this gig later today. Curiously l haven’t seen these acts before.

Kate Ceberano has come and gone. She was great and did a series of 80s Ozzie classics. The sound is brilliant. Making plans to see Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and The Cruel Sea here on May 23.

There’s a few of us going to see Barnesy next Saturday night @ Centennial Vineyard Bowral

I think same line up

I wasn’t super keen to go but am kind of interested now

Further to the above…

All 3 of these bands lined up with twin guitars, used to great effect. In addition Icehouse brought out a young guy who sang and played guitar on one track, l don’t know who he was, but he was sensational.

Ian Moss has put together a smoking hot band, in particular the bass player, who was outstanding. He played 6 songs, 3 of them from the Cold Chisel days, My Baby, Choir Girl and a great Bow River. He also did Tucker’s Daughter. It might not be a popular opinion but l like his voice more than Barnsey’s. There is more light and shade.

Icehouse came on at dusk and played a string of their most well known tracks, they started off with Electric Blue and Little Girl, moved on to Crazy and included a great version of Southern Land which got the crowd singing along. It was another impressive band with a second guitarist and which made extensive use of the best sax player l have ever heard. He has a dynamic stage presence and his playing was simply phenomenal, his work was especially prominent with an extended workout on I Don’t Believe Any More.

Barnsey took the stage at 8 with a band of 10 players, with twin guitars. I have to say the ravages of time and lifestyle have caught up with his voice. You either like it or not, but l find his sudden and constant changes to strident shouts mid line/word jarring, but l am probably alone on this point. Standout tracks included Daylight, No Second Prize, Die To Be With You Tonight and Working Class Man.

The venue itself is brilliant, and the sound mixing was excellent, the whole show was very professionally organized. I managed my timing well and beat the traffic out, as there is only a one lane road for 20 km until you get to the highway, and there were probably over a thousand cars behind me. I was home in half an hour or so. I am planning on going back on May 23 for Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins and The Cruel Sea. Again, more acts that l have never seen before.

I’ve have tix for 6 of us to this Thursday night gig @ The Enmore SYDNEY

I’d be interested in the set list they be play

Last time they toured was the 30 year “Shake Your Moneymaker” tour and it was a ripper set no list but they’ve released two albums since then

Looks like they play a lot of different stuff.

here’s the set list from last night, average set list of 2025, and average set list from the tour you went to.

Looks like it’d be hard to pick what they’re gonna play, but you’re in for a treat

The support act - Southern River Band were fantastic! Definitely worth checking out. Very hard core rock n roll with a little bit of Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick and AC/DC on the side. Really quite bluesy.

The Black Crowes were brilliant. A great gig,

First saw the Black Crowes in 1993 and then again a couple of year ago.

Tonight was amazing. I’m a big fan so I could listen to Chris and Rich do anything. But wow. I love this band. Tempted to fly to Sydney.
