The concert and gig thread

I reckon if you can get a ticket, go for it.

Great band live.

Did the singer wear his, errrr… slightly revealing velour pants?

Yep and his crop top.

They were all at Cherry bar afterwards. I saw them walk in together. Apparently Chris was in the group but I didn’t spot him.

I first saw them early 90’s and plenty times since

Last time they toured Shake your Money maker 30 year anniversary tour in 2023 they were awesome. Taking Harvsfans junior 23 & 19 actually eldest turns 24 midnight tomorrow night

I was at the 30 year anniversary show in Melbourne when a fan jumped on stage and Chris hit him with the mic stand and Rich hit him with his guitar! We were stunned. We thought it was over.

Then they simply started the song again and the crowd went wild.

Yeah I remember seeing that posted on Blitz (was probably you Ant)

Posting not jumping on stage :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

I recall at the time thinking that was one of the best set lists I’ve seen them play - entire SYMM album + some of the best stuff from Southern Harmony and a couple Bowie / Stones covers

how was it?

This has a real colosseum feel about it- someone gets overexcited then the mob are cheering him being knocked over with a guitar. Maybe this punter was acting more dangerous offscreen but really, could live music crowds get any more sycophantic?

Yeah they were cooking

The Enmore has great acoustics which helped. Set list was a bit left field and they played a couple songs that I’d never heard them do live before, which left 1-2 of my faves on the table (Sting Me / My Morning Song) but since the Black Crowes have such a huge back catalog it was OK

They played maybe 3-4 songs from the latest 2 x albums released since they last toured

We made an effort to get there to see The Southern River Band who were genuinely appreciative of their support slot and absolutely rocked the joint.

On the way out I’m pretty sure I spotted Damian Lovelock (Celibate Rifles) in the mingling crowd

Only downer was the $140 parking ticket which we fully expected since we were in a 2 hour zone, but inner city Sydney has very few parking options so the four of us will share the cost

Damien died in 2019, alas.

Oh ■■■■ I didn’t know that

Saw them plenty times back then

He has a doppelgänger then

IIRC he was a mad football nut (not AFL)
