I’m still tempted, but have snoozed on it and don’t know if there’s tickets still available.
A Weezer show is a serious gamble. If they focus on their first 2-4 albums, it could be a cracker. Everything thereafter has been so patchy, you could equally end up with a show dotted with dreck like We’re All On Drugs, anything off Raditude (especially Can’t Stop Partying and I’m Your Daddy), Hurley, Pacific Daydream or the Black Album, or even the interminable covers they’ve elected to do in recent years.
I could be seriously wrong, but I’m inclined to save my dough and listen to those mighty first few albums instead.
Hmmm… a real mixed bag that is. You’d want to get better than that… plenty of opportunities to head for a piiss, grab a drink at the bar or duck out for a cheeky dart there…
I don’t know if this site has ruined gigs for me or not. But I have been using it to see if a band with a big catalogue is gonna play what I want to hear.
Now see, that is a Weezer set I’d pay to see. Gets a bit ropey two-thirds of the way through the main set, then recovers with the last two songs of the encore.
Models 40th anniversary of Pleasure of your Company. Thursday 12th, nah I’ve got work early the next day. Do it right Sat 18th Nov at Castlemaine Theatre Royal with an overnight stay.
On my way now. No idea how big the venue is, but we get lucky here with about a quarter of the crowd you might get in Melbourne. Apparently Milo is killing it now his artery has been unclogged.
Yeah, dudes here are short, it’s rad.
Just ran into a mate who’s on his way to see Earthless.
The Models next week and Huxton Creepers/Ups & Downs at The Corner this weekend… quite the Indie Aus rock of the 80’s revisited couple of weeks for me!
Then I’ll go a little further back to the late 70’s seeing The Victims in December…
