Lovely nut from Pat.
Starc and him have both bowled well without luck until now, getting nice movement.
The bamboozler strikes and Pakistan are in a spot of bother.
Lab buys a wicket with his trundlers and this is getting a bit silly.
How much longer can they carry Carey in the team for? Time to put him out to pasture with Stoin. Team starting to come together well with the inclusion of Maxwell & Inglis in the lower order. If Green could click that would be a fine batting lineup. Should make the semiâs at worst. England and India still streets ahead of us though.
The game was a bit silly.
We tried to set up a run a ball chase for them to practice our death bowling, but it didnât really work out.
Giving Warner two overs for 41 runs (but having a simple catch dropped early in his first over!) was a highlight.
Not sure how Green would feel being the only one not to get an over apart from Ingliss and Carey, and Lab getting nine.
AnywayâŚ
Heâs probably a butterfly landing on his helmet away from being cooked but for now LETâS GO PUC!!
Nice solid start.
Lmao. Classic moz
Was always going to happen wasnât it. First ball after lunch goneski.
Excellent to see Pucovski back out there.
If anyone deserves a bit of luck going forward, itâs him.
Very strong bowling line up and solid bats down to 8 with no Matt Short or Maxwell. Vics will take 20 wickets most games this season and probably wonât need to bat again on some occasions. In Shield contention.
Not wheeling out old man Siddle straight away then I see.
I wonder whether the plan is to play him more after Christmas when some of the younger quicks could potentially be tiring a bit.
Or else just a pretty constant rotation.
I must say, Iâm a little surprised that the fixture isnât such that the host nation plays the opening match to kick the tournament off.
Yeah, not great to see the first match played in front of a near empty stadium.
Wa 1-198 chasing Vics 257 with bancroft 100 and Wylie 90.
Jack Edwards having a great start to the season after some good performances in the Marsh cup. 6-36 & 87 with the bat.
Aussie women 3-113 off 12. Series pretty much rests on Haley Matthews bat.
John Lennonâs killer getting a game for NZ.
Got a good record against the poms. Tactics.
Injuries have meant they only have two available quicks and Williamson is coming back from injury too.
More blokes at training tonight than at this game
I said to a mate earlier, I reckon if this opening world cup match between these same two sides was played in Melbourne, there would be more Indians at the G than there are here⌠in India for the opening fixture of the WC.
India really going all out to kill the 50 over game.
