I’ve just put my dog on Orijen for kibble in the morning.
Is supposed to be the best dry food going.
Why do you think it may have been the issue?
They did have safety concerns floated a whole back was supposedly scare tactics from opposition companies.
Orije was recommended by Malamute breeder, and it is probably a coincidence, except I forgot to wean her on to the new food slowly like suggested. Just looking for reasons to blame myself I guess.
If you switch to meat over purchased dog food, you have to be aware that just muscle meat won’t provide them all the nutrients they need. You will need to supplement, whether that’s with organ meats and/or veg, grains or supplement powders etc - the exact combination will depend on what sort of meat you’re giving.
my bull mastiff had something similar when in a kennel. i was in hospital myself so got the vet to operate immed. i think he thought he was missing out on being the centre of attention. trouble was trying to stop him running when we got home. he had to make himself reknown to the wallaby pests around the property

Poor little guy has lost his bark.
Today we said goodbye to our beautiful little girl Libby. My heart is breaking. For 16 years she has been part of our family and I can’t imagine life without her.
