The Glorious Gold Coast

Is it a fizzier

Very windy night on the Goldy. Brisbane yet to really feel the winds force I believe, today for them more so. Some tree damage in Surfers, a photo here. Certainly the windiest night I’ve experienced here, more intense conditions today / tonight.

Flying debris is a serious problem. Once a window is gone, rain comes in almost horizontally
May not be as severe in Brisbane as a CAT3 in FNQ, but the erain over the catchment. Whoa.

Wivenhoe dam is sitting at 86%. Thats pretty high just before a cyclone hits the hinterland.

Live stream is down!

People taking their kids into frolic in the whitewash. Sheesh , so we do actually have maga people here too

Never forget that 80% (conservatively) of the population is just-climbed-down-from-the-trees levels of stupid.

And we are talking about Queenslanders too…

I’m pretty sure when the serious stuff hits they’re not mucking around.
I’ve got friends up there an I haven’t heard anything from them over night. It must be terrifying right about now.

Still not much happening here, ~10km northwest of Brisbane CBD

Yes, Brisbane and Sunny Coast didn’t get what the Goldy and NNSW copped last night.

Wins more benign this morning. I assume it will pick up again during the day. It’s safe outside this morning, although my eye is trained on the radar etc!

This is true. And many of them haven’t experienced anything like this. 98% of people are acting with due caution, it’s the usual 2% who aren’t from my observations…

Modelling is pushing the crossing time later and later to perhaps tomorrow afternoon, which is not good. Longer sustained rainfall along the coast, especially south of Brisbane.

and current tracking basically shows it crossing over my roof at this time . moreton island will take some of the sting out . but it’s the hours before that will be a bit edgy . the little blue dot on the mainland entry is my actual location
