The Glorious Gold Coast

:skull:. What is victorians hatred of the premier state and a glorious city that is Sydney.

If i could be arsed i could do a thread like this one nexta has put together. But i cant be arsed.

I want more people to leave Sydney.

Well I wanted a thread to showcase some of the positives of the Glorious Gold Coast and got to recommend a beer people may not have experienced. Everything else is a positive.

m8, this is what every town in australia is. like it or not, gold coast is the purest representation of our cultural hegemony

you don’t hate the gold coast, you just hate yourself

That is harsh but understandable.

I have always had the best holidays on the Gold Coast. Just the relaxed lifestyle and the nice weather is fantastic

I just wish their footy tickets were cheaper. Every time I have flown up there for Essendon games they have been very expensive

Ewok, maybe you need to jump off a bridge.

Specifically, this bridge!

There’s some truth in that, but we don’t all have Warwick Capper aspirations. Hence my “tacky” comment. Culture means a lot to some. How many good Aussie bands of the 80s and beyond got a start on the GC, for example?

Some of my best memories are from uni in the Gold Coast. It might’ve changed a bit, but young carefree people can have a lot of fun. And obviously the older folk love it too. It’s the middle part of your life/career, depending on what you do, that it’s not awesome for.

Also, I’ve lived in Sydney, which was also great, but we were very lucky to have work subsidise a waterfront property. If you’re on the water in Sydney, it’s amazing.
