Maybe money grab was a bit harsh
No…it was accurate…don’t back down now
I will have a crack at the 70’s one, only because theres not enough early Alice Cooper.
I’ve just finished listening to The Beast of Alice Cooper.
Man, I cant whittle all that down.
Check out 1975, zztop, cooper, zeppelin, queen, floyd, sabbath, elton john, aerosmith, jeff beck, zappa, acdc’s classic…
Fark, cant do it.
Sure you can…do it desert island style…you have a record player and you’re only allowed to have three albums from 1975…what are they?
@swoodley
Seventies is not my wheelhouse.
I’m only going to give votes to albums I genuinely know and like, is that okay?

Yeah…that’s fine.
It surprises me how many music lovers on Blitz haven’t explored the 70s.
Some of the greatest albums of all time came from that era.
It’s got a few distinct eras within the decade though, I definitely know 77-79 very very well, mid-70s hardly at all.
That album was released in 1971
That’s well said.
Early 70s was rock, rock and more rock…mid 70s and along came Punk and Disco…late 70s New Wave and a real growth in Oz Rock.
There was a lot more happening besides that, but those are the three areas I’ve always broken the 70s down into.
I always just google it…it brings up the album and release date.
Some of the Jazz movements of that era are my favourites. I felt almost heart broken not to include Alice Coletranes “Journey in Satchidananda” in my list (that openeing bass line, then in floats the cosmic goodness…whoa…)
Then the funk stuff that stretches into the Blacksploitation soundttack era…man. The first 4 years of that decade has something for everyone.
Alright, settle down Harry Bosch.
At my age “classic rock” was a dirty word and it wasn’t until well well later that I started even vaguely listening to some of that stuff, and by then time was limited…
On the plus side I still have millions of great albums to listen to and discover.

On the plus side I still have millions of great albums to listen to and discover.
Yep…you lucky bugger…you still have the chance to listen to some classic albums for the first time.
(and some crap ones as well …when I start listening to an album for the first time, I listen to the whole thing…good or bad…and some are very bad )
I found this a bit more challenging, as its before my time. browsing through albums by year on wikipedia, saw lots of artists I know, and songs I know, not many whole albums i’ve listened to. so this is really a list of albums i’ve heard and liked (or if I haven’t listened to the whole album, at least I recognise a number of the songs on it). there are others that i came across that i will have to check out (eg, i don’t think i’ve ever actually listened to Split Enz).
