So…prior to this thread, I wasn’t really aware of the band “Air” or their album “Moon Safari”

It’s been getting quite a few mentions in people’s votes so thought I’d check it out.

I just finished listening to it…very smooth…not going onto the playlist (yet) but I will revisit it at some later date as I think it’s worth another listen.

Thread delivers!

They did the score for the Sofia Coppola film The Virgin Suicides shortly after Moon Safari. Definitely worth checking out, I’d say. The film is good, too.

Do a list yourself…and then include Smash in the relevant year.

You know you want to.

It’s actually hard because I’m sure I was listening to Smash in the summer of 95. Maybe I should do a different list of my best albums the year I listened to them?

You could do that…but it wouldn’t fit into the format for this thread.

The offer to do a list for this thread is there if you want it.

Cheers

Aah, it’s time to relax, and you know what that means. A glass of wine, your favourite easy chair, and of course, this compact disc playing on your home stereo.

So go on, and indulge yourself… that’s right! Kick off your shoes, put your feet up, lean back and just enjoy the melodies. After all, music soothes even the savage beast.

Some of your best work there

You’re taking me back to drunkenly moshing with my mates around a fire. That album is getting a run tomorrow. :slightly_smiling_face:

Mildly lukewarm take: the rules should allow for soundtrack albums. There were some absolute bangers, and it was a great decade for bands putting out tracks on a soundtrack that didn’t come off ne if their albums or something. Romeo and Juliet, The Crow, Lost Highway, even The Beach and the 1999 Godzilla - all had amazing soundtrack albums.

A somewhat warmish response…there’s nothing in the rules prohibiting soundtracks…in fact, several have been included so far.

Please feel free to add whichever soundtracks you like to your lists from the 70s, 80s and 90s
