Anyone else keen to try get Judd in as midfield coach next season?
Full respect to harvs but I don’t think he would have much to offer our midfield, maybe defensive coach?
Sorry I'm late but Dill basically got my point in one. I must preface it by saying I don't really believe you can see from where we are which assistant coaches are good and bad. Bassett may move on and we'd replace him. You might replace one more if internally he's clearly not gelling with the others (or Skippy if as Barnz says he's really woeful)My point is simple - and I’d also like to point out I believe Hird should be given next year to show his wares with a conscience-clear side and try and earn another contract.
BUT if you decide to make a big move at the end of this season because - as this topic says “the team is crap, this is not good enough, enough is enough, let’s make some changes to this cack coaching panel we have”, it is ludicrous to make the big sweeping change of sacking everyone (or near enough to everyone) BUT keep the unproven (on the whole), nonperforming senior coach. That we would look at it and go “yeah you’re right guys, it’s a real ■■■■■■ box, let’s surround our boy HIRDY with some better assistants, that’ll fix the problem amirite guys?” is absolutely ludicrous. It would be like deciding to cut the list ultra deep and do a huge rebuild of the list around Steinberg and Melksham.
Again, replace one, maybe 2 if there’s a really good assistant coach available or we feel it’s necessary to move someone on. I don’t think the hypothetical “sack everyone” is worth discussing because it’s no chance of happening. But someone (forgive me I can’t recall who) mentioned that we should sack and replace every assistant coach and keep Hird. If we did that that would be the point at which this club truly jumps the shark.
Not sacked, contract not renewed… There is a difference. Hird would be sacked with 1 year left on his contract. I’d be surprised if assistant coaches have the same deal.
I doubt assistants would perennially be on 1 year contracts. But I think that’s much of a muchness, the point still stands.
I just realised that if we do move Hird on we are odds on that Skipworth is the next senior coach
■■■■■■■ DO IT
Wouldn't surprise me if Hirdy walked, honestly how much more can this guy take?
Obviously you’re talking about a different James Hird to the one that I know. When the fark has James Hird walked away from anything???

Ear surgery?

That’s the problem. He sees it as walking away. In fact, it would be doing the best thing for the team and the club.
Time has come for Mr Hird to pull the pin.
It’s getting tougher and tougher to defend the need to keep this coaching panel together.
Even Hird can’t escape criticism.
This is really worse than our time when we were being smashed and coached by Knights.
It’ll be interesting to see if the board caves in to media pressure (not the first time we’ve done so in the last three years) or whether they come out and make a strong united statement.
What is required in the short term though…
The public needs to see the emotion from the players and from the coaches. They need to understand what people are going through and how it effects the day to day activities of the club.
Let’s go sack us some assistants
If the players really do love him and want him to stay, then they could start doing him some favours on the field. On face value, and under any other circumstances, these performances are what you see when a coach has lost the group. It’s virtually the template for it.
Obviously these aren’t normal circumstances, and the issue is very murky, but this is getting pretty dire, and big decisions get made when these results keep happening.
We should call an EGM to change the club’s constitution to prevent Hird from ever not being coach even after he passes away.
how many farkin threads…

Coaching isn't a popularity contestObviously these aren’t normal circumstances, and the issue is very murky, but this is getting pretty dire, and big decisions get made when these results keep happening.
im smarter than pretty much everyone else. listening to me is the most important thing you can do today.
You’re on most people’s ignore list, actually. And now you’re on mine as well. Bye bye
Yeah awesome sign him up. Doing a great job so far
How about we let him coach to the end of his contract to see what he can do without WADA hanging over the club, before we go out and Matty Knights the ■■■■ out of things by extending a guy who could still be a dud
i appreciate your honestly about your own ignore list. And of course your self importance to let everyone know how important it is to you.
Deckham has a weird air of superiority.
what sort of peacock publishes that they’re ignoring someone.

I kind of agree here, we picked up the bottom of the barrell assistants and lost some good ones. But ultimately hird is the head coach and main voice. The lot need to go but who would be better and who would want to join this minefield of a club?
Surely hird will do whats right and step down while he has a strand of dignity left. Hes fought hard but is doing no one any favors by staying for one reason or another.
