To be honest might be worth applying for the 30% off at the bomber shop and discounts On meals at the melton country club

WOB, we’ve been through a lot, but I wouldn’t wish Suma on anyone.

I‘m sure they have better luck at recruiting decent people in non football roles than they do inside their main coaching department, I mean after all this club functions more like a 7 day a week business

We’re bringing Bartel in as head of football department right?

He could barely hide his excitement when asked the question.

What a sensational pick up he would be. The two Jimmy’s will save us.

Is this the sort of job where unsuccessful candidates can be given interview feedback?

When are we expected to know when the new coach is announced?

Enright doesn’t have the personality to be a senior coach he’s as boring as batshit. Kelly on the other hand is charismatic, he was very popular during his playing days at Geelong and people were drawn to him.

I’d still have Kelly, Gia, McVeigh and Chaplin as the young coaches to interview. They all have good resumes and 3 of them know the Essendon environment which is a plus.

I reckon august

More evidence today of why Brad was never it. I know a number of our 2000 and 93 premiership players feel this way and it was similar at north Melbourne.

Despite claims from Vozzo and co around how we were trying to forge greater connection with the past players, this evidently was not the case or supported by Brad.

To me it is becoming increasingly important that the new man is a connector, not just a leader of the the team, but a leader of the club.

When was that? I’d love Bartel at the club.

christ, like this ■■■■■■■ club needs to be living in the past more.

maybe if people at the club stopped trying to remember and live in the good old days, they may actually move forward.

If past players want a greater connection to the club, run for office, get a job there it ain’t ■■■■■■■ hard to leverage the club based on past deeds.

it’s not surprising the 2 clubs who can’t move beyond the 90’s, and iin our case 2000, are us an carlton, two clubs that are the metaphorical version of peter pan and never wanting to grow up, or move on from their success in the 90’s era.

Yep, past champions can fark off if they expect a lifetime free ticket to the club and to have a whinge when the red carpet isn’t rolled out.

Go and procreate if you really want to help the club. Watson, Daniher and Bewick had the right ideas.

Completely disagree.

Embracing the players doesn’t mean you are living in the past and just helps to foster connection with people who
Actually know what it takes.

Clubs are about people, building connection etc.

Btw, where has the “Longmire needs to be convinced narrative come from” outside of people’s imagination?

(I agree we shouldn’t need to convince btw but haven’t seen anything from Longmire so far to suggest he’d need to be.)

Assume because and still has said he not really any closer to knowing if he wants to coach. And will just wait and see.

The more I read about James Hird, the more I keep liking Ken Hinkley as the bombers coach.
