The other Olympics

Definition of torture.......sweltering in 39 degree heat (low of 30 overnight) while watching people playing in the snow.
Would love an ice bath and cold beer right about now.

Yep 43 in Adelaide today and local cricket called off due to heat. Just not fair

I find it hard to watch anything. The coverage is all over the place, you don't know what's live or replays.

Makes our boys club look tame, so there's that.

At the bottom of the Slopestyle I'd like to ask every single one of them "...and so, do you genuinely believe you're an athlete?"

dave culbert ruins it for me.

I still insist that anything scored by a judge is not a sport.

Agree, they're not as buff, speedy, or athletic as the curlers, obviously...

I once spent 4 hours competing with a mate to get from the font door of a house to the back fence by throwing a magnetic dart and trying to get it to stick to things to mark your next throwing point. Trash was talked. Booze was drunk and it was sport through and through.

Why are people so precious about what is a sport and what isn't?

I still insist that anything scored by a judge is not a sport.

Agreed.

Agreed.

It's a competition. True.
But I guess they need to be there. They are rad to watch some competitions.
I love:
Ice hockey
Snowboarding
Speed skating
Downhill skiing
Freestyle skiing
Men's mainly.

Downhill skiers are maniacs.

Boxing is one of the greatest sports you will ever see

It‘s a good thing no AFL game has ever been determined by ■■■■ umpiring.

Plus at some time someone needs to make a judgement with respect to umpires and referees, judging is always happening.

Downhill skiers are maniacs.

Some of their I‘m-sliding-almost-out-of-control form made me feel good about my talents. Then I‘d see the speed flash up, or they‘d show an angle that accurately represented the slope they were descending, or they'd fly 70 metres…

Downhill skiers are maniacs.

■■■■■■ oath. Having gone skiing for the first time last year, I now know how ****-scared I'd be on slopes like that.

Just completing this slalom course looks like an achievement

So sick of this “live” coverage though. They are cutting out 2 minutes of everyone’s run. If you don’t actually want to show the Olympics give it to pay tv

"Aussie" Dale.

Sidenote:

They shouldn't ever play the men's before the women's.

The chicks are just as good to watch... in isolation.

But when you see a dude doing a 1200º one night, then a chick doing the same stunt but only 720º the next night... it's a bit anti climactic.

Do it the other way around, ladies first then the men, and everybody's happy.
