The Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP)

Bring back Walla I say!

Arguing that Voss should have been retained because he won our VFL B & F is ridiculous. Just look at the quality of the VFL team especially after it was decimated by the AFL injuries. In a poor season it was not a high quality winner of the B & F. I’m willing to be proved wrong if he can star for Freo. However, this year our VFL team will be genuainely competitive and be much stronger overall.

Voss is no good, just move on.

I don’t think it is ridiculous at all.

What I do think has been ridiculous is the poor quality of our VFL program.

and thus the case in point of all the bullshit justifications as to why he wasn’t even given a go.

again you could but some if not all of them IF and I mean If those say justifications were applied across the whole board, ala not pick stringer for not adhering to the “afl lifestyle” just because his perceived over indulging was food related and not booze, there’s no way an “elite athlete” turns up in the fitness shape he was in, and then justified by the same coach as calling him a “power athlete” .

it’s not a case of “arguing to retain voss” it’s to call out the hypocrisy of again the bullshit justifications for him not even getting a go.
the simple fact is, you don’t know what he could have achieved at afl, and the club seem to be not even willing to to trial some of the guys they draft in the hope they may actually find a diamond in the rough.

i mean geez i get potted on here all the time for being too negative, yet people run with the above assumptions and hang a kid out to dry on the things he supposedly doesn’t do, while claiming the other forwards who don’t really kick goals are in the side cos they vaguely take contested pack marks and theoretically bring the ball to ground, sometimes.

Yes you can call bullshit on the “not ready”

Better than saying not good enough or not up to it as a kpf

That’s just one of the reasons we should have kept him, don’t forget that he was an emergency for the Afl team 3 or 4 times and if Brad didn’t have such a hard on for Weidman he would have deservedly been given a chance.

Yet we had some of the most highly regarded development coaches at our club during his time here. Funny how we have had so many highly credentialed assistants come through our doors, including a number of senior coaches (a couple who won a Premiership), yet none have managed to develop this elite talent we supposedly have to the extent that we can win a final.

I hope Voss succeeds at Fremantle.

Scott had ample opportunities to pick him.

last game of 2022 - picked Reid as a forward after half a game and farewell game to Hurley.

Baldwin and Voss were the in form players and should have played.

Played a unfit Stringer and Draper against GWS - VOSS should have played.
Would ahve brought finals like intensity in his debut match against Giants close to his home where family could have came along. That game was one of the most insipid performances I have seen. At least he would have had a crack.

After Baldwins injury, It will be hard for him , and he has been dicked around by selectors too, don’t be surprsied if he goes elsewhere for more opportunites.

That was Rutten.

I guess changing coaches didn’t help.

And from what Reid has been said to do at training, understand need to get games into him, but there would have been more benefit to Baldwin or Voss playing as a forward that year.

Covid lockdowns and injury really hurt Eyer and Brands development. And the VFL team was so bad development was really impacted. There’s much more to it than just coaches in isolation.

Where is Brand these days? On Blitz the vide when both were delisted was that Brand was closer to it than Eyre. Obviously being tall and athletic really helps you to have opportunities in the league

Brand had the fitness of a 90 year old
