The Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP)

Solid chance Rosa is looking a year ahead and thinks we can do better with small forwards next year

I know, not every year you get the best SF in the draft served up on a silver platter though.

I don’t know, I reckon we will have the best small forward in the draft as an option for us for a few years yet.

Um, I think you’ll find we’re borderline flying in the training thread, gloomer.

The best small forward in the draft may end up being a rookie from the Tiwi islands.

Love ‘Bendigo Jones’. Gonna bookmark that

It’s got a ring doesn’t it? Indiana’s Oz cousin perhaps

I want us to use the maximum amount of time to identify the talent to replace Martin on the LTI list for next year. I don’t understand rushing the decision. If it ends up being a Setterfield then I’m fine with it if he is the best option, but why would you not try a long list of players to try to discover the Diamond that everyone passed on (ie. The next Martin). :man_shrugging:

Just need to now develop them better than we did with Perkins.

Wallaby Ted’s cousin maybe?

Roberts.

Simple. Or at least should be simple, shouldn’t it?

But that is a simple task that has mostly eluded our de-development teams for the last 20+ years.

Sounds like we dont really need to complain about development now as things are improving finally

I’m sorry what?

Development is improving? Under who? What is the evidence of this?

It may be fair to conclude that recruiting has improved under Rosa (based on an admittedly small sample size) but I’ve seen absolutely no evidence that development has improved.

I gisss it does feel nice to make sweeping positive statements based on the annual spike of preseason optimism.

Cos all those eager teams lining up for setters signature in the mean time :scream:

How many bridges have you also bought lately?

Well let’s see it maybe a little premature but things do look good right now

Haha

We’ve taken it to new levels if we’re picking up a bloke in the preseason injury rehab group. You’d laugh if it didn’t make you cry.

We choose Setterfield to be relisted as a result of the Martin injury. :man_shrugging:

I never understand these decisions when you could use the opportunity to list a highly speculative pick instead Essendon chooses to list a player who is borderline best 23.

Why not swing for the fence, pick someone that comes with risk. You never know what you might find.
