Sorry mate, but that’s not at all what free speech means, nor has it ever been what it means. Freedom from consequence? Nope. You say something mean spirited about a demographic and you’ll rightly be called out for it. Exactly what those consequences are and who they come from is the issue.

Totally agree. The consequences from the state are the issue. That’s what those that advocate free speech actually stand for, not the idea that people shouldn’t be called out on their bullshit.
My mistake, I thought you were referring to “cancel culture,” which in my opinion is grossly over exaggerated and far less of an issue than some here would have you believe

Yep, as silly as cancel culture is, the impact it has is trivial. I do miss Apu and Speedy Gonzales but fmd. Junk media will blow this stuff out of proportional because it appeals to the biases of their idiot consumers. Media sucks.

One of my favourite YouTubers was “cancelled” for comparing Avatar: The Last Airbender with anime.
However I’d struggle to find fewer than 100 other problems in the world less serious right now.
