Call me cynical or call me Jussie
Who’s Bernard Tomic?
NOLE aka the GOAT through to another Grand Slam final after a straight sets job on Shelton.
Alcaraz two sets to love down against Medvedev in the other semi!
We’re into the 4th set now. Good match!
How good is it! The court coverage and clean ball striking from these two is brilliant to watch.
Yikes! Looks like Daniil might have this one.
Still the best 90 seconds in US Open history. Complete with the stroke of his head with his middle finger.
He’s a classic.
Well I don’t think many people were expecting that result!
Go on and win it all Daniil.
2 things that I find strange/annoying and I think it happens a lot in majors. How do 1 and 3 seeds end up meeting in the semis? It should be setup so 1 meets 4 and 2 meets 3. Secondly, why does the number 2 seed play on day one instead of the number 1 seed? Djokovic (and Shelton) got an extra days rest before their semi than Medvedev and Alcaraz. That has to be an advantage come the final.
The top seed’s half of the draw should have both of those advantages, not the second seed.
But the second seed regularly gets those advantages.
All aboard the Medvedev train I guess.
Bloke dosent care just speaks his mind wish sport atheletes were more like him and not just be robots and say clique things
They do mix it up a bit. So the number 1s side of the draw may have a few lower seeded players in it overall to compensate.
Alcaraz was playing his games a day before Djokovic I think all tournament and would have had an extra day if he had of made it to the final.
Seeding in itself isn’t perfect. Its not just world ranking.
The other thing to consider is past performance at tournament and players records on different surfaces.
I usually favor Djokovic in GS finals, however I think Medvedev may have his measure in this final - For Joker to win he must serve better which has only been average during this tournament.
1 and 2 are fixed.
3 and 4 a drawn.
1 can’t meet 2 until the final.
1 can’t meet 3 or 4 until the semi.
“luck of the draw”
Not sure about the starting times - they all do it differently.
Fair point. Although Novak was playing a day before Alcaraz all tournament
Coco Gauff careering away from Sabalenka now
She’s won 8 of the last 11 games and is chasing down everything at the moment.
Gauff prevails, serving out the last game to love. I didn’t realize the final was on due to the time difference, otherwise l would have started watching it earlier. Good job Coco.
Well done Coco!
