Novak acting like hes dying again. Will likely win in straight sets.

Yeah Medvedev is a set down but he really does look to be the fresher player. These are long points played in a physically taxing manner and Djokovic appears to be labouring. But yeah, like you said, you never can quite know how much of it is real or not. I’m expecting the trainer routine at some point

If Med wins this set, expect a 20 min Novak break

The irony that it’s Medvedev with the trainer now
Just shows how he is the ultimate poker face. Opposite to Novak.

P.S. That set went for 1hr 45 mins :dizzy_face::exploding_head:

First set: 6-3 Djokovic

Second set: 7-6 Djokovic

That set was one of the best I’ve ever seen. Pity Daniil couldn’t win it to even things out.

It was interesting before wasn’t it when Djokovic leaped over the net to help Medvedev (who had fallen) back up and Med shoo-ed his hand away and told him to bugger off. Didn’t want a bar of aiding Novak’s attempt to look like a good bloke

This one will pad out his résumé nicely in terms of the distribution of his slam wins. Because for a guy who is the greatest of all time and so incredible on hard court, ‘only’ winning three US Opens felt unders. Stretches that out to 4 now. 24 Grand Slams in total. Two ahead of Rafa and 4 ahead of Roger and he still probably has a few left in him.

Aus Open - 10
French Open - 3
Wimbledon - 7
US Open - 4

this is mental disintegration on a tennis court

Nice interchange at the net between Joker and Medvedev, all in good spirit. Novak now doing something he hasn’t before, showing some emotion.

Well done Djokovic.

He was one set away from the calendar grand slam as it turns out. Alcaraz got him in 5 at Wimbledon.
2 years ago it was Medvedev at the US Open who denied the feat.

Joker dons a custom t-shirt, with a big 24 on the back and Mamba Forever on the front with a picture of him and Kobe Bryant together.

If he wins the Aus open next year he’ll pull out the Scott Lucas #25

Medvedev with a great speech. Showing a side of him that contradicts the persona of him projected in the media.
