Musk knows this violates the Apple and Google Play store rules.
Do you think he is doing it on purpose, to have X removed, so he can scream censorship, blame the Dems and rile up the MAGAs right on election time??

Block function is incredibly computationally expensive. It means that Twitter needs to check a list of who all of the users in the world have blocked to see if you are allowed to view their content. By scaling that back to messaging, it reducing the check to only are you allowed to contact that individual user.
This is change is driven by users increasingly using the block function on bot accounts. That has increased the cost to Twitter of running the block function.
So ignore the claim that this is due to users being unable to see harassment performed by other accounts who have initiated a block. Twitter doesn’t care about harassment any more. Their bans have dropped by over 99% and hate speech is rampant. This is purely being done as a cost cutting exercise under the guise of protecting users. It’s against the will of almost every user.

Henry Ford was a racist who also pronounced the Jews as evil. Didn’t seem to affect his car sales and development.
