He ain’t getting any $$ from me or anyone I know.
Now in same category as Murdoch.
Fun fact: during the war, Ford owned a factory in Köln. People would take shelter in it, as they realised the Allies were avoiding it during the bombings.
He was not above doing business with the Nazis
Harvey Norman is on my list too

“At one point, Putin asked the billionaire to avoid activating his Starlink satellite internet service over Taiwan as a favor to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, said two people briefed on the request.”
It boggles the mind how he still has a security clearance for space x.
I actually wonder how he hasn’t been ousted by the boards of both space x and tesla. Security reasons for the former and just shear brand cancer for the latter. If Steve Jobs can be ousted from Apple, surely the boards of both must ask the question.
Just signed up for an EV.
Was going to be a Tesla a while ago - not anymore.
Canvassers for Elon Musk’s America PAC in Michigan were subjected to poor working conditions, unreasonable quotas, and in some cases were misled about the fact that they would be promoting Donald Trump, Wired reports.
From Wired:
In Michigan, canvassers and paid door knockers for the former president, contracted by a firm associated with America PAC, have been subjected to poor working conditions: A number of them have been driven around in the back of a seatless U-Haul van, according to video obtained by WIRED, and threatened that their lodging at a local motel wouldn’t be paid for if they didn’t meet canvassing quotas. One door knocker alleges that they didn’t even know they were signing up for anything having to do with Musk or Trump.
A representative for Musk and America PAC did not return a request for comment.
Labor grievances and disputes have been a common thread across Musk’s companies. The Guardian has reported on injuries and safety issues at Tesla. Black workers at the company have also alleged race discrimination and harassment. A pregnant worker at Neuralink alleges she was forced to work with a monkey that was carrying herpes. Employees at SpaceX have suedMusk and the company for sexual harassment and whistleblower retaliation, among other wrongdoing.
So this is what the American workforce has to look forward to if Trump gets in and crashes the economy within two years as Musk expects. A solid foundation using harassed and underpaid workers to rebuild the new economy.
I’m sure they are both losing sleep at night
He is not in the same category as Murdoch. He far exceeds him now with a president that will be thankful. He will influence deregulation and cutting red tape. All of which will help him and his companies.
I dont think you can discount trump just getting bored of someone and binning them
There’s not much leverage they can have over him.
SpaceX is too important.
Powerful rich people get what they want.
It’s in their best interest to help each other.
It’s going to be an interesting dynamic. Trump owes Musk bigtime, and Trump’s likely to have big bills coming in from civil lawsuits against him, which he personally does not have the money for and will have to rely on deep-pocketed pals.
However, Trump is really really bad at paying back favours or debts or even just reciprocating loyalty in any way. As soon as Musk asks him for something he doesn’t want to give, or tries to stop him doing something he really wants to do, the relationship will be hard on the rocks.
What’ll happen then? Musk won’t want to give up his seat so close to power after spending so much money to buy it. But Musk is arguably as impulsive and prone to Twitter brainfarts as Trump is, it’s quite likely that, if frustrated, he’d say something about Trump that Trump will not be able to forgive. Will Trump’s big money backers try to shuffle him aside on grounds of mental incapacity in favour of Vance? There’s a school of thought (that I find at least partially convincing) thar Musk backed Trump not for Trump, but in the hopes Vance would take over.
All of that is possible. Neither are shrinking violets.
In Musks favor is the influence he can provide republicans going forward with X.
There’s political graveyards full of people who thought they could use all sorts of leverage against Trump. The guy’s cult following makes him pretty much untouchable at this point, Damned if I know why, but I think if Musk goes against him, Musk would lose.
All possible of course but I don’t think it’s in either of their interests.
