No, the best part is when we recruit people (on or off fielld) and we need to make sure they are of essendon quality. Thats 95% of the problem

As a 19 year old fan, the past successes mean sfa to me. It’s a ■■■■■■■ joke that this club thinks it can rest on its laurels and continue to ride the wave of past successes. They literally mean nothing to me or most other supporters my age. It’s ■■■■ that to most of my mates Essendon are just a big ■■■■■■■ joke, not the club to be feared throughout the 80s and 90s. What an absolute shitshow. Wish I could skip the whole farkin season and to next year, as this is just a waste. Hoping we can have some form of improvement next year, but with the false hope sold by the club this year, I have my doubts. I remember watching some of the old highlights with my old man ie the 2000 and 93 Gf’s and it’s just sad to see how the club is a shadow of its former self, players don’t seem to care, don’t have any mongrel and just seem to show up for their paypacket and put in minimal effort.

So pessimistic that even if we get a group of deadset rockets in the draft our club culture would quickly transform them into confused plodders.
I love/hate this ■■■■■■■ club, the head says ■■■■ the AFL off and watch netball (a very pleasing pastime) but my heart demands I stay and bleed weekly when the team doesn’t play to its potential.
When I started following Essendon many years ago it was a special club through good times and bad, now it has the stench of the AFL and is very ordinary indeed.
