40 degrees in Essendon right now. How are our Adelaide based Blitzers coping? Forecast for 45 over there…
It has already reached their hottest day on record, ever…46.2 so far according to ABC news
Just under ten years ago, Blitzers were live-spurring on the Melbourne temperature, and celebrated mightily when we hit the record at 46.
Then half the state burnt down.
Shut up.
that’s not how the weather happens
Sitting in the work vehicle at Adelaide airport with the aircon doing overtime
Tarmac temperature just reached 57
43 degrees in Port Fairy.
A very pleasant (perfect) 28 down here right now.
Got to about 33 before the Inverloch Doctor did it’s stuff.
finally got outside and it’s lovely
45 in the car.
I need a steering wheel cover.

Yes, Adelaide, Edinburgh is not Adelaide, just like Carlton is not Melbourne.
Records broken at:
- Adelaide
- Adelaide Airport
- Clare
- Edinburgh
- Hindmarsh Island
- Kuitpo
- Marree
- Minlaton
- Minnipa
- Noarlunga
- Parafield
- Port Lincoln
- Port Pirie
- Roseworthy
- Snowtown
- Stenhouse Bay
That being the observation point closest to my current location.
And within the adelaide metropolitan area.

HEAT RECORD UPDATE:sunny:
Birdsville’s record-breaking run of temperatures of 45 degrees or above has come to an end!
Yesterday the temperature reached 44.9 degrees (SO CLOSE!
)
So… that means Birdsville has set a new QLD record of 10 straight days of 45 degrees or more. The national record is 13-days.
Cloncurry and Camooweal are still competing to take out the title for the longest run of days above 40 degrees. So far they both stand at 38 days - a record already!
In Mount Isa 37 out of the past 38 days were above 40 degrees. The only exception was on Jan 1st when it reached 39.8 degrees.
Wow. Hope the air con is holding out!
It’s working very well but outside is unbearable. Boots are tacky on the ashphalt as it pushes towards 60
