Trade Talk 2019 Pt2

I really like him. Athletic winger that really doesn’t kick the ball all the well.

If insider with three r’s doesn’t spell legitimacy, then I don’t know what does.

I trust this tweet.

And doesn’t get contested possessions either

Probably spending too much time playing Fortnite and other video games.

I actually think we need one more than that, given Draper may not be available at any point next year, and Bellchambers is a 10 game per year proposition. Basically I think you need 4 rucks on the list, but I think next year Draper + Bellchambers combined are really only 1 of those.

don’t know what the op is on.
hartley started as a forward/back up ruck.
he did ok in that, and then when hooker was found out by said jenkins or anyone he was put on in the Adelaide forwardline got pantsed.

swapped to the backline in the second half to which i think they only kicked what 3 goals for the half.

of all the games to have a crack at hartley, that’s probably one of, if not the worst to use.

Read a few things saying tom phillips might have to leave the pies due to cap squeeze. Is he worth us having a crack?

Very good player but wouldn’t come cheap.

Need another small forward. Hoping for a Dan Butler swoop, underneath the noses of his preferred Saints option. Fanta, tippa and the butler make for an excellent small forward mix. In the event mosquito comes on quickly also gives us the option of giving tippa more midfield minutes.

The price is right too, Butler will only cost 4/5th rounder. Pretty sure he got injured in the preseason and again early and never really got going. He is better than Castagna.

Butler for me is a much better footballer than Castagna. Richmond supporter mates love butler and believe his streets ahead of Castagna.

Pies putting Aish on the trade table even though contracted according to the age.

Good pressure player too, I’d take him before targeting Cutler.

Jon ralph doesn’t think we’re bluffing:

Essendon holds firm with Sydney on Joe Daniher as Carlton waits nervously on Tom Papley

Essendon genuinely wants to retain Joe Daniher, adamant its current position with Sydney isn’t posturing or a negotiating tactic. Jon Ralph and Jay Clark on why that’s bad news for Carlton.Essendon could knock back one of the richest offers in trade history, even if Sydney Swans offer two top-10 picks for spearhead Joe Daniher.

The Swans are mulling over a decision to offer picks No.5 and No.9 (from Carlton for Tom Papley) to secure Daniher, 25, despite his recurring groin problems.

But the Bombers’ current position is to knock back that massive haul because of the lack of genuine A-Grade key forward replacement options available.
The Herald Sun understands Essendon keeping Daniher would also dash Carlton’s hopes of securing Tom Papley, with Sydney unwilling to lose their contracted goalsneak without acquiring the Dons spearhead.

Essendon genuinely believes Daniher would quickly fall in love with the Bombers again next year, with one insider saying yesterday “nothing has been fractured or broken” in the relationship.

Daniher’s delay in seeking a trade request until this month has made it almost impossible to find another linchpin forward to spearhead the attack.

Essendon has made clear in its three meetings with the Swans it will only do the Daniher deal if the return allows them to secure a genuine star ball winner or top-line key forward to help keep the Bombers in the top-four hunt.

It means the Bombers are happy to keep Daniher at the club knowing he will front for the first day of pre-season and likely restore his trade worth next year, once his groin problems are behind him.
Essendon believes it will secure Brisbane wingman Tom Cutler and Carlton ruckman Andrew Phillips this week, putting it further in the premiership window if Daniher remains.

In 12 months’ time the Bombers will have more scope to target a gun replacement such as Gold Coast’s Ben King, Gold Coast’s Peter Wright or Greater Western Sydney’s Jeremy Cameron.

Essendon can match any Daniher free agency bid next year, following Adelaide’s path in securing picks No.9, 28 and Dean Gore for the brilliant midfielder.

I’m in the “want to keep Daniher” camp but honestly believe Essendon when they say they want to keep him too. I don’t think it’s posturing at all.

Me too. I believe the club has been genuinely blindsided by Joey. That’s why they haven’t got a replacement lined up. Hopefully keeping him at all cost.

If we passed up 5 & this mythical 9 on a principle, then we are stupid imo.
5 & 9 for a player who has barely played in 2 years and has concerns over OP which caused his brother to retire is pretty decent.

The more I think about it. The more I believe we must keep him another year.

If he decides at the end of 2020 that he’d like to go to the Swans. Then we end up matching the bid. We could keep him or trade him for 2 first round picks + go all in on Jeremy Cameron as a free agent.

Out: Daniher
In: Sydney’s first round pick 2020 & 2021, and Jeremy Cameron.
