How do you trade Parish… keeps getting injured.
He spent more time playing VFL in his final year at Geelong. Arguing that they traded him when his value was high is not really accurate.
Over paid hacks.
I remember reading somewhere credible from someone at the club that in 2013 we were actually trying to trade up to select not Cripps, but rather The Bont. Imagine how that might have changed the clubs trajectory if we’d been able to avoid the fallout from the saga and the loss of draft capital.
Agree with this.
From Reid’s angle, he probably loses 1-1.5M by not signing somewhere this year, and deferring decision making to next year keeps him under the media microscope for longer.
From West Coast’s angle, if they can’t re-sign Reid, they’ll want a draft pick return this year and next year to get ahead of the compromised drafts with Tasmania, and so their rebuild isn’t further delayed.
If I remember correctly it was supposed to be part of the Crameri trade our first and Crameri for dogs first was some basis of it
How much would Zak Butters cost us in a trade??
If it were 1 first rounder I would probably do that.
Plays tough uncompromising football and only 24.
Has had piles of it in the vfl the first few weeks. Huge clearance numbers
Lot of $ over very long term for player whose also had a lot of injuries in his career
Had to do it to keep him though, Saints in particular offering the world to try lure
nah it’s only Essendon that do long term deals
I’d go further and say the club he nominates will be the only club that can get it done!
His manager will be looking at all the prospective clubs and what they can offer West Coast and will be putting lines through the ones who won’t cut it.
I don’t think Ned Long will be gettable anymore.
From afl.com.au
NED LONG’S days as Collingwood’s substitute are numbered, with coach Craig McRae praising the former Hawk as a midfield “beast” after a breakout showing.
Long was among the pivotal players on the ground for the Magpies in their 31-point win over Sydney on Friday night in their Gather Round clash, extending their streak to 10 straight wins at Adelaide Oval.
He had 29 disposals (17 contested), nine clearances, 10 score involvements and six tackles as the Pies’ midfield, with Nick Daicos, Scott Pendlebury and Steele Sidebottom also important, slashed through the Swans. It came on the back of Long being the Pies’ starting substitute for three of their first four games of the season.
He’s Luamon Lual’s best mate, isn’t he? We haven’t played him either!
Maybe he isn’t that good if they get rid of him.
cats don’t give up good players usually.
Good players don’t leave Geelong

Had to do it to keep him though, Saints in particular offering the world to try lure
Saints need to change their bait, the lure they have been using, just doesn’t work.
Another article that lists McGrath as a pillar of our defence, do these people watch him play?
Soft plastic to hardbodied?
As soon as his name was mentioned you know this guy doesn’t watch football.
Ablett, Kelly ?
