Get the list cloggers parish & mcgrath off the books & we can access a compo pick or 2.
Weāll need to see how Sweid and El-Achkar are going before making too many plans, as we may need those picks for one or both of them. Or not. Lot of U18 footy to be played out.
I would want it to be a teens pick (if we were doing the deal). Possibly a future one.
I think we need to strengthen the backline, but we may already have the tools. If we did hit up Port, assuming heās a lot cheaper (albeit riskier) Iād target Sinn.
Seems like we have a decent relationship with Port now too.
Iām all in on operation Bergman. Heās one of those, less flashy trades that would instantly make us more competitive.
Fills a massive hole for us.
Miles and Roberts kicking ass on the back flank for the next decade.
Also, maybe we werenāt into Houston because we had sights on Bergman?
A few others from memory:
Greg Williams: Enough said
John Barnes: 2000 Essendon premiership ruckman
Travis Varcoe: Collingwood forward
Stephen King: St Kilda
Gary Ablett jr:
Brent Maloney: Melbourne & Brisbane
Adrian Hickmott: Carlton
James Kelly:
Paul Chapman:
Justin Murphy: Essendon finals player
Brent Prismall: Another Bomber champ!
I donāt think going as far back as the early 2000s or 90s is really in the spirit of the original comment, about good players not leaving Geelong.
But since we are, how has no one mentioned Colbert, who became their captain, then left.
Given McClure gets most things wrong
Welcome Harley
Staying at WC?
The same bloke who said Carlton have a flag winning list lols.
āWest Coast wonāt select Harley Reidā isnāt that what McClure was saying??
Just listened to it. Throw away line by Sam, just dismissed Essendon as an option as he personally doesnāt rate us (flog). Has no mail on it apart from saying he thinks Harley will stay at WC for another year.
Mitch Clearly still thinks Essendon is an attractive option.
Sam Mclure aka āThe Trade Whispererā
The dude has a 12 pack dunny roll full of ā ā ā ā comments.
I listened to it too. He has no idea. Thinks heāll stay and if not he thinks heāll go to a āwinnerā. But had no idea
thats two phones tony to you
I hope he does stay, for another year
I donāt like spending first rounders on half back flankers. There are plenty of mids not getting enough opportunity in stacked midfields, that can go to half back and become stars. If he was a free agent Iād be for it though.
Itās difficult to refute this point with Essendon players when we havenāt won a flag in a quarter of a century.
Iād pay up for a small defenders if they were elite at both sides of the role.
Unaccountable ones Iād agree with
