There is no comparison between Simon and Justin. Simon was a champion, great mark, kick and one of the best rucks of all time, Justin was tall.

Just googled it. Must have been the 1987 SOO against WA and Williams got BOG. Can only assume he was thanking Simon for the silver service

Williams, remember him leading Sean Denham away from the play and away from the umpires and then giving him the biggest whack in the guts I have seen. And guess what Denhim did, he got up and kept tagging him. One of our unsung champions was Sean.

What I was trying to say putting aside everything else except form and with the benefit of hindsight, we would have been better off keeping Justin and retiring Simon. However I know in the real world that never would of happened as Simon was already a club champion.

Retieing Simon Madden, in 1982, and keeping Justin?

I’d be looking to trade 2MP and Cox off our list at the end of this year but just don’t think either have much currency.
Then again Cox is still only 23, was a high draft pick (pick8) and was electric in his debut season 2021 when he won a NAB rising star nomination. 2MP did kick 53 goals in a crap team in 2022 and has shown he can be a decent back up ruck option.
If only they both can rediscover that form…!!
