I’d be pretty disappointed if we cough up three picks for Harley.
Especially when we a shot at getting guys like Dyson sharp or Duursma
Doubt we get a shot at Duursma at this stage, not sure his kicking is any good either and we absolutely do not need more AVG to bad kicks
How crap was that chase and pressure - or lack thereof - on the wing in the last quarter.
We don’t need blokes who pick and choose when they are fair dinkum.
I’m still down for the gamble. Gimme Reid & JUH.
After watching Harley today, just leave him where he is thanks.
He isn’t worth the high cost.
Yeah was awful pretty much coughed up a goal because of it
We should hold a minimum two in the top ten we can trade up or hold both I think we are real shot at him
Forget Duursma, his kicking and lack of defined position are two red flags we need to avoid.
Sharp and Hibbons-Hargreaves are he two we need to complete our midfield. Can guarantee that they will both be gone before our pick though.
I’d be happy to try and trade our two for sharp
Yeah I’ve been keen on Lindsay & NHH for some outside class if we keep our picks but I think Lindsay now goes before us.
Maybe Rodriguez or Grjl instead.
We currently have pick 5 and 9 . Given what I’ve seen from the young players over recent weeks, I’d take those picks to the draft, not hand them over for Reid. I’m less and less impressed with his attitude as the season rolls , and imo we are better served with a double chance at filling two needs.
I’d also look at trade options for Parish. He’s a better player than many suggest, but our timeline is shifting and i’d give those minutes to younger players.
Is there a chance duff-Tyler slips?
Iam not sure that’s more a @noobermensch question.
Anything’s possible, and it depends on what you consider “slipping”.
He was one of two Metro players to emerge with their reputation intact after yesterday’s drubbing at the hands of SA so he’s still in pole position as it stands.
I think he would fit us well, long way to go to the draft I guess.
Duursma is such a Dodoro pick no thanks
Personally I’m on the Harley Reid bandwagon.
I think he’s checked out mentally (as many do in their last year) and would offer this side something that few can. He’s had the second year blues but his first year was breath taking. Raw power, a body that needs two to bring down, fend off ability in the Martin mould and a potentially generational player, plus height in the middle. He can be the poster boy for the next decade. He’s a gigantic point of difference that would be far and away number 1 pick in this or any draft. Thinking to a future midfield of Reid, Bewick and a mature Durham & Caldwell with Caddy and Kako up forward.
This draft looks weak, I can’t see those few picks in the top 10 this year being comparable to what Reid could offer. For the top picks, Sharp looks like a good nuggety midfielder (we already have many) and Duursma to me looks like he dodgy disposal. They’ll both be gone by our first pick. I think it’s likely we end up with pick 4 or 5 (5 if we sneak a few wins, which we will) and pick 8.
I think weve seen the past month with some players missing and some not that we have quite abit of scope to trade with.
How much we get for them is another thing but guys like Langford and Jones, McKay, Redman and Ridley, Tsatas and Parish, Perkins and Cox, Draper and Bryan, potentially Wright?
The talls is a big one, ruck and defender wise someones getting pushed out.
I mentioned elsewhere, I’d be tempted to see what value Wright has at the trade table with us paying a chunk of his salary. A number of contending teams or hopefuls need key forwards.
I really like the way he’s playing and what he brings, but he isn’t a spring chicken. 28 years old. If you could get a first round for him, and give his team spot to develop Visentini, Gerreyn or May, that could be a win win.
Especially, when he had two bad fumbles in the last three minutes against North.
