Trade talk - from October 2024 (Part 7)

I for one think Rowell would be the wrong move for us. We have Parish and Caldwell as small contested clearance players and the improvement of bringing in Rowell is marginal compared to another position we are in need like money spent on a big bodied explosive mid like Reid or a small forward

Cats are too busy this trade period, they are trying to bring in both Harley Reid and Butters.

Rowell could be the right move, if Rosa is willing to make some tough calls on some of our midfielders.

But yes, with the current state of our midfield mix, Rowell isn’t right for us.

Get Bergman and Reid

That’s a lot of high quality pasture land.

Think Josh Lindsey would be better for us at a high pick, his kicking is elite

He would be good.

Geelong have him on the board as well. Probably squirrelled away some land outside Geelong for the Falcons product for when he comes home.

Will be interesting to see what we do as the midfield is almost a strength for us but a lot of players at our picks are going to be mids

The midfield could be a strength, but our best midfielders are being pushed out.

There is significant problems with the midfield mix. Most of those issues are around Parish, Shiel and Tsatas, and their lack of versatility.

The more Parish and Shiel play, the more they make the players around them worse. Its a massive problem.

Sounds like he’s staying the extra year

If he hasn’t re-signed by the half way point of the season he’s a chance of leaving imo

I think the Pies might have offered him a big :moneybag:

I sense the pies want him and Rowell wants the pies, just not sure how they get it done, considering they need picks this year for their own F/S and academy players.

A pies F1 could still be a pick in the teens. That won’t get it done

I agree and I said it in a different thread but trading parish would be an all round win win.
Get him to a premiership contending team and get ourselves a decentish pick maybe a future pick instead, even consider paying a chunk of salary to get a better pick then he is worth helps us with the rebuild while setting up a better midfield mix

I genuinely feel like Geelong and Collingwood will be gun teams for all of eternity.

Like, I can’t actually ever see a reality where they have a proper lull.

Tsatsas to Geelong?

Twomey mentioned they are seeking mids

Where do I sign?

No first this year and didn’t use one last year.
Be very surprised if they have the capital to get anything done as you said.
