Trade talk - from October 2024 (Part 7)

They would mostly be the ones I’m trading out

They would bring the most value.

If Draper goes he goes. we keep Bryan. Draper is more talented though
Redman on song in a stronger lineup will be a better player.
Parish is worth SFA on the market so may as well keep him.
Perkins - persist one more year, get to 100 games.
Ridley - its more his body than anything. Would get someone to bump Scrimsaw and Rioli next time we play them, borderline fairly like what happenned to Anderson. If your going to injure our players, there needs to be payback.

Mckay to North???
Seriously it took him 8 years to get the hell out, why on earth would he want to go back?

Any news or rumours on Sam Drapers decision?

We will need to wait for a heavy loss before a announcement.

They are three of the worst contracts we have given out with maybe a fourth in Draper

Melbourne just signed Picket for 9 years also North sigend a bunch of players to long term deals so not just Essendon.

Clubs signing players to long term deals has become the norm now.

Pickett is a top 10 player in the comp. Hardly comparable.

If Caddy becomes an A grader and we signed him for 10 years fans will whinge

Just because other clubs are doing it, doesn’t make it correct

Well we can’t, because we don’t have any.

When Caddy becomes A grade and the club signs him for 9 years fans will whinge.

a 9 year deal for anyone is too much

what is a long term contract that has actually worked out for the club?

do you really think that deal worked out for Sydney in the long term

they never won a flag with him. They paid him a truckload of money, and he couldn’t get them a flag

He ended up kicking a 1000 goals so i say the deal did end up working for them

how many did he kick for Sydney compared to Hawthorn.

They brought him in to win a flag, he and they didn’t get it done

I think it was a success.

They didn’t win a flag, but came close. It helped to keep Sydney relevant in a tough market. Closer to success than we have got to during that period.

They don’t give up any picks to get him.

Massive from the clubs footprint perspective.
