Leave while WCE are undergoing a rebuild to another club where a rebuild is happening.
Everything is “could” or “might” in that article, not worth a clacker full of cold snow…much like nothing Sam McClure says is worth listening to .

Worked for Tom Scully
It’s not a bad idea in that sense. He could really help Kako and Huss hone their craft.
I’m ok with it.
Had to get his talent from somewhere. Astute acquisitions
We need a representative for the Dreamtime game!
Would rather it be Malcom Rosas than Ryan.
But in a perfect world it’s neither
Vintage, champagne click bait. Move on.
If we don’t part with at least 2 of those picks for him then I won’t believe this!
I just hope we can package 2 second rounds for a higher first round with GC. Maybe with something coming back next year if it’s not that high a pick
Talk is GC are trading up to get West Coast’s pick 2 (assuming Allen leaves and nets them pick 2)
Getting ahead of their academy prospects…
The system is seriously broken if that happens.
Not just getting access to 2-3 of the top 20 selections but also potentially getting access to one of the top 3 in the open pool?
It’s really not fair.
Having said that though if they did that trade they surely wouldnt have sufficient points for the other three prospects?
It would also be stupid by WC to trade a top two selection for two picks likely to slide back into the mid to late teens…
Are you still allowed to go into deficit?
Depending on what GC have coming through they may be willing to go into deficit next year to load up this year.
Or maybe they are happy to trade next years first rounder in to get points after trading their 3 x first round picks to WC.
How far will Ports pick that GC have slide? Can’t imagine it goes past 12. So pick 12 and say 16 and 20 for pick 2 or 3?
Doesn’t sound too bad.
it sounds great but if they go into deficit they basically won’t have first round draft picks for multiple seasons? I’m not exactly sure it all works to be honest but my understanding is your pick gets moved the following season if you go into deficit.
If they traded 12 and 16 for 2/3 and then bids come for Patterson, Uwland and Addison in the next 10-15 picks which will happen it would be unprecedented. I imagine they would have first rounders wiped out for a couple of drafts.
Yeah I don’t know tbh. They also hold Collingwoods first round pick.
One thing I do know is they would be considering all this, they are very well placed to work the system.
Maybe they are willing to trade a player or two out get the picks for points, a few guys might be pretty expendable given what they have coming in.
Yep, potentially players involved like a Sam Flanders.
Regardless of that I think it’s a bad trade for WC. They desperately need top end talent and they would be trading pick 2 for potentially pick 12 and pick 18. That’s not good business in a weaker draft.
They will also be getting picks 5 and 6 anyway
If this eventuates and we have no skin in the game anymore than I don’t care, let everyone trade whatever they want.
West Coast apparently keen on splitting the Oscar Allen FA compo pick (assuming he departs as expected) to acquire multiple first round picks to accelerate their rebuild:
We have to be all over this. Rosa should be working the phone now.
Pick 5 and 6 for pick 2? no thanks
