Trade talk - from October 2025 (Part 10)

Yeah straight swap parish for butters. Imo though port might have to chuck in steak knives, perhaps jordan sweet. Done deal

They wouldn’t have to give up anything material to take Parish. Future fourth salary dump would do it.

Do you really think Welshy will let him go for a 4th?

No doubt the club will dig up some meaningless stat that shows he has one of the highest ratings in the team and we will ask for overs.

Lunch today with my mate from the industry so hopefully I can get some little bit of news or gossip from him

Yeah apparently with the potentional of both butters & byrne-jones leaving it was rumoured DP3 had enquiries. I myself doubt

mmmmmm… what’s the right balance between not wanting to seem desperate and “please god yes for the love of all that is ■■■■■■ holy TAKE HIM” ?

GC get absolutely reamed in that trade.

A bunch of picks good for nothing but points and a papier mache defender for losing their no.1 forward. Not a chance they accept that.

Maybe it is being floated as part of the port pick shuffle for pick 4? Throw in parish as steak knives. I am all for it.

So we trade the Merrett pick and our afl compo pick plus Parish for pick 4 maybe?

Please let it be so…

I didn’t think we get the compo pick until the end of day 1 unless you mean the end of first rounder the AFL will give us as assistance?

Ring ring

Matt Rosa “Hello, Matt here”

Port Adelaide “Hi Matt, Its Port Adelaide here. Just enquiring about Darcy’s availability next year”.

Matt Rosa “Yes, yes he is available for a trade”

Port Adelaide “Oh FARK NO, there’s a pro-am just before the LIV tournament and Darcy’s name came up”

Matt Rosa “Beep beep beep beep”

the suggestion that its good to get out of one club and see how other clubs do things is good if he does indeed wanna move into coaching. we’d probably have some appeal as a case study of what not to do.

Of course there would be, we’d be f*cking stupid not to offer him a huge contract to play one season with us… and then move into a coaching role.

The club should also be reaching out to Dangerfield aswell.

I’d prefer to see this, than offer 4-5 years for another Fiorini.

If we’re including a promise not to bid on Cochrane I’d definitely want more than a 4th. That has value.

Get me Pendlebury corpse. I just need something to mentor Robey and Sharp.

If Hawks have to use picks to get Merrett and King do you think Gold Coast are getting more than that? Hawks have three firsts and two seconds. However, the 2027 first is really a second.

We’ll require at least a first for Merrett. Even if we took just Hawk’s FF1 (which I doubt) that leaves one first and a bunch of seconds for King. And then GC would need to pay us something semi-decent for Ridley, especially if we’re picking up three years of salary.

They can of course just take #6 and then pay for Ridley. This assumes they prefer not to do that.

Maybe Hawk’s #27 is also included and goes to Gold Coast.

Please please please be us.
