Trade Targets

I reckon every day from tomorrow until the end of trade period we will hear
is interested in without any sort of credible source behind it, just a communication specialist needing to feel relevant

Wasnā€™t he out of contract end of last year and ready to sign for the blues? Then a combination of injuries to others and his good form saw him play more regularly and he re-signed?

Would be interesting to leave so soon after.

Blues couldnt get deal done because they were giving draft picks to the hawks to get the omeara deal done after trade period ended.

Tomlinson would be a great addition to the side - Versatile player who is best suited as a second or third tall, but can play forward and midfield.

What do you think our picks will become after Free Agency compensation?

I expect our pick 28 will drop one due to a Rockliff pickā€¦

ā€¦ but what could Trengove generate? What could a combination of Motlop and Mendel generate? Who else do I need to think about?

Heā€™s a very popular player but is a weakness in our side. Technically flawed, he watches the player rather than the ball, if he fixes that issue and learns how to properly spoil he could be a decent defender. Key forwards kick bags on him, almost cost us the game against Geelong when he kept watching Hawkins and not the ball when we were comfortably ahead

So the same role best suited to Hurley, Francis, Gleeson and Brown.

Iā€™d assume itā€™ll end up getting pushed back 3-4 spots. Last few years itā€™s been more lik 5-6, but thereā€™s less academy players this year. Probably a F/S pick to richmond in Naish and at least one academy player in Ballenden, so it depends what trading those clubs do to take that into account. Plus brisbane will be angling for another priority pick, and someone will offer one of those FA a bit more than expected.

Is this the same bloke that was said to be all but over the line with Fark Carlton a year or two back but for some reason the trade never happened?

Wow I asked a long question.

Yeah i think it was end of 2015
It was a last minute trade that didnā€™t make the deadline IIRC

Hey - You want to quote my post then quote the WHOLE post - Your post adds nothing to the discussion.

I do like him, but I have seen a bit of that also. I have also noticed that he tends to hesitate before committing. But heā€™s young, and talented.

Didnā€™t make the deadline like the Oā€™Meara trade?

I really think the club may be in a position to take a punt and trade a tall this year.

A player like Hartley, Brown or Ambrose (Iā€™m a big fan of Ambrose) could sweeten a deal for us.

Having those 3 and Hurley being able to play KPD with a developing Francis and a possible Father son next year in Mason Fletcher has us reasonably well stocked.

We should look to make a trade with one of those to get a solid player or one with good potential into the club like Smith or Saad.

I know all 3 are contracted so it isnā€™t easy but I would investigate that.

I would be blown away if Mutch was playing an inside midfield role next year in the ones.

At his rate of improvement I think he is a massive chance of debuting round 1

Mutch?
Yeah I guess thatā€™s possible but not in an inside midfielder role, from what I have seen and Iā€™ll stand corrected but he has basically played wing all year.

Sorry i wasnā€™t sure because your reply didnā€™t specify inside.

I think he will get some taste inside. But he has taken on everything thrown at him so who knows.

Kid is just a natural footballer

Note* the last 3rd of the VFL season he played inside very competently.

Oh it should have!, fixed.
It must be the heady combination of Hunter Shiraz, warm bath, magnesium salts and marijuana cigarettes.
