Trade Targets

Based on my supreme football intellect

Not against getting Wallis as a FA. He is a much better player than at least six others already on our list. Midfield depth is something you can never have too much of IMO. He’s a good player who’s hard at it. As much as people have maligned him over the years, I reckon Colyer has been a significant out this year. Provides the outside speed that we’re lacking right now.

Not saying this is on the cards or even possible but given how crapp Freo have been for a while now and how bad they look like being for the immediate future, would you throw the kitchen sink at Fyfe? Turns 27 in October so you’d think he probably has 5-6 years left, anyone think he’s the missing link? If so, why not make Freo an offer they can’t refuse? Would almost certainly cost two first rounders plus, big risk.

Yeah i would do it.

We’d have to give up our first and trade a quality player out to find a second. Possibly Hurley or Zaharakis

He’d make us a better side. Easily get 5 years out of him

Wallis would be a good acquisition. Anthony Miles has to leave Richmond at the end of the year. He surely can’t have another season of limited opportunities? If Wallis is a FA that’s a great pick-up for nothing, and Miles after 2 seasons of playing a handful of senior games would be worth no more than a 2nd or 3rd round pick, they are 2 guys who address needs (inside midfield/contested ball). We then most likely have a pick inside the top half dozen of our season continues on this path. Those 2 plus the best available midfielder at that selection should hopefully change up the dynamic in there.

wallis had that shocking broken leg a few years back yeah? i wonder what the longer term effects of that may be, especially if the break was through the ankle.

Wallis could be our Josh Kennedy

Mitch Wallis is exactly what we need. Worth the risk because we just don’t have a bigger body in our midfield that can win the ball like that.

Imagine all the sooky Doggies supporters when Stringer and Wallis are tearing it up in the midfield.

Are we a chance?

I trust Jackets is bombarding his manager with calls & texts.

Would Seb ross be avail? Would be a perfect fit.

Seemed all too convenient that an hour after Ralph wrote that we were chasing midfield talent and a ā€˜midfield bull’ the AFL article came out that aligned more with Port saying the deal is as good as done with Wines and both parties happy

Clearly though he has not made his mind up at all, confused about what to do / and or playing the game to get Port to lift their offer or just stringing them along.

We are still on here IMO

Just saw an article saying we are linked to Jarod McVeigh. Keen if it’s one season then coaching.

If he hasn’t signed with port in the next month, he’s not staying.

This. We could do a lot worse than having McVeigh play for a season in the middle or just behind the ball to help set up the defensive zone and release other players to run.

Is Wines a client of Paul
connors?

Gaff, Wallis, Setterfield and Hately in is possible if we’re brave enough…

Hows that for trying to fix our midfield woes.
