haha yeah some still wont be happy with that “about bloody time” " watch us miss the finals next year"
Not a lav fan at all but he would offer more then Weid and jones, with caddy on light duties and Hunter out the cupboard is bare
In a way, Lav could be our VOSS?
This year’s highlight will be when we know that we finally have a team that can be trusted to turn up every week and play good footy winning more than we lose, only to lose the following week 21 snags to 3.13.
despite the messiah status of Voss…laverde is a better player
Id put him down back up against Hawkins.
This is the type of observation that gets you my Blitzlow votes each year.
If the coaches play Laverde forward… this week… against the Cats… … well they aren’t as superstitious as I am about history repeating.
I would 1000% play laverde forward ahead of jones or weid
Playing forward against geelong he got injured several games in a row iirc. As a defender it appeared he’d been killed on the half back flank 1st quarter of rd 1 2022, only to rise from the dead after half time.
Sure but only if draper and caddy are cooked (which they probably are)
Yes… but the list of players you might put in that category are long.
Draper played in the match sim today. He’ll play VFL round 1 you’d imagine
Why not give Voss a go forward? Oh that’s right we decided to keep 2 tall injury plagued forwards instead.
Dont get me started!!
Well fingers crossed but I’m terrified a Joe Dan groin situation is just around the corner
FF: Langford
CHF: Laverde
That never even crossed my mind. Hey, lets throw laverde forward because we have no options
At least i can say TALK VERDE TO ME when he kicks a goal
Dreams of a decade ago finally coming true.
I sure hope Paul Chapman can save us.
I haven’t given up on Jones yet, but the problem is he hasn’t shown much in some time, so he better start showing it soon or be replaced by someone willing to have a crack (be it Caddy, Draper, Lav or Weid (if he can get enough confidence and grit to play to his potential).
Despite our very long wait for improvement in the side, I really do feel like Round 1 will be a new start with a new combo of players who will need to get to know each others games under AFL game conditions.
If enough stay fit, hopefully we will see a lot of the incumbants be exposed to selection pressure and have to earn their spots.
Showing better signs in the VFL side is a very good start, if we can have a functional, competitive VFL side, then we will have a decent proving ground for players which we haven’t for a while, a lot will flow from that, as long as Brad doesn’t play favourites too much (which has been his weakness in the past) the senior players will have to play decently to keep their spot.
