Training Report 24.11.2023

Ben McKay and Peter Wright trained away from main group. Quite a bit of running, and doing some kick to kick stuff between them. I think they will be paired up a lot over summer as adversaries.

No mid fielders in particular stood out. Setterfield trained well, Tsatas looked good, they all looked very fit. In a 20 meter sprint between cones back and forth though, McGrath had them covered. Quick off the mark.

It’s worth It if you have the time (and it’s going to take alot of time).

Does seem to drag out a bit at times (especially in Jordans later books) but well worth the read. An amazing series.

As to the show… Well I liked season 2 more than season 1 (though that’s not saying alot). Couldn’t be much more different to the books if they’d tried though.

Going to read books first, then I’ll watch series. Always prefer that order.

It’s been a long time…

But their journeys took a drastic turn when Jayden suffered a second ACL rupture in his right knee, on their 18th birthday of all days.

It was February 26, and Jayden – 2½ years removed from his first major knee injury – tried to sidestep an opponent while playing touch rugby. His right knee paid the price.

ā€œI tried to be a bit too flashy and ā€˜step’ someone and the knee obviously gave in,ā€

Who is training the house down?

Tired of having to read through the whole training thread? Allow Humbert to summarise JUST THE GOOD BITS for you. No negative news, no conjecture about the best 22, no reviews of some tv show you’ve never heard of:

Archie Roberts: very well-balanced kick
Luamon: kicking action better than expected considering the noise around his skills. Was kicking fine all session. Very nice candy side step also. Didnt look small to the eye
Caddy: looked powerful for age 18. Leap was there for all to see and was kicking from 50 with ease. Could see why Curnow was at least mentioned as a player who was similar in style. Big boy for his age, and he is a beautiful kick for goal.
Vigo: well balanced for a kid 204cm. If he bulks up, he will be hard to move. Quite a good kick as well.
Jones: training strongly. Looking good.
Duursma: said hi and wanted to engage fan base.
Hunter: running laps as rehab progresses
Parish: is an absolute specimen
Roberts: a very accurate left foot kick. Didn’t miss a pass at all
Wright: moves well for a big guy
Hurls: still looks in great nick, and he ran a bit himself
The playing group in general: looks very fit.
Reid: trained very well.
Baldwin: The strongest looking guy. He may have got even bigger in off season. A serious unit.
Stringer: Light laps running now post surgery 2 months back. Doesn’t exactly look fat in the stomach or anything like that.
Setterfield: trained well
Tsatas: looked good
They all: looked very fit.

I have read the whole series. Inconsistent and so slow at times but worth persevering if you enjoy reading a lot. Some books are a lot better than others. I couldn’t stomach the TV show.

I’m not going to training and therefore won’t write a report.

I can report no reports can be expected from me.

Cheers Krack… Great report…
Has Jones bulked up?.. Was Ridd’s there and if so, how did he look?..
