Looks wirey to me lol
Same here. He is the one l most wanted us to draft, and believed that we would. Gonna be a star.
thin and crispy
Yeah they are my thoughts too.
Should be a physical beast considering his size but heās just nowhere close to that
Wouldnāt mind knowing if he can lay a tackle or if he has any type of physicality to his game.
Yep, I was thrilled when we called out his name and then Perkins.
(I was also barracking for GCS to take Reid so that we could have Hollands, but Reid sounds like he could be a great get as well.)
Yeah watching it live at the time when it was Gold Coastās pick I was hoping they were going to call out anyone other than Hollands but so be it. Weāll have a better idea about this draft crop in a few seasonās time.

Iām glad you asked that.
The most noticeable thing about Wrights ruck work is he hasnāt done much of it. He did a little bit yesterday, mainly around the ground against Philips, Philips beat him hands down. He probably needs to be more physical as a ruckman.
Iām surprised how little ruck work Iāve seen him do, given youād think heāll be expected to do a bit of it during the season. He might do a bit more in the lead up to the season, and youād have to think theyāve done ruck craft sessions with him.
Oh wow. Do we have any clarity on who our releif ruck might be? Surely we arenāt throwing an inexperienced, post-ACL Draper to the wolves as a Witts-style ruckman who barely shares the loadā¦?
Maybe we play Draper and Phillips?
Iām pretty sure it will start at least initially as Draper and 2MP. Wright has always been included when they are doing ruck drills and Draper looks like he will be more than handy if resting forward.
I think we all were.
In all honestly, Cox was the one i was least interested in. I wanted us to grab Reid and Perkins was the next best available. Looks like I was wrong.
Imagine Draperās strut while heās playing Key Forward!
I wouldnāt be surprised if he tells everyone to get out of his 50 meter perimeter.
From what I have seen of Cox he has been very good in gereral contested situations with ground balls, regularly able to pick up the ball cleanly and dispose efficiently.
The main knock on him at this stage would be his physicality both in marking and contested situations, and there would be a question over his ability to accumulate possessions which wonāt be answered until we see some actual game time.
But some of his running looks absolutely elite, and his ability to run past players and create space will surely be a great asset.
Heās a little similar to Tom Jok from a couple of years ago with his running, the big difference being Jok had the tank but struggled to go above 3/4 pace whereas Cox can consistely run at a high pace.

If Nick Bryan comes on the way some think he could, that could well be an option for us in the future. Could see Draper being a very dangerous marking target in the FW 50.

Thats potentially a problem playing against key position players who are his height, but he would be as heavy as most wingers and has a height advantage.
Interesting comparison to Jok.
How weird was Tom Jok coming from nowhere to be debuted on the G in front of 80,000, taking some good marks then being delisted two weeks later.
A low centre of gravity is useful. TIPPA would embarrass him (unless the umpire pinged him for tunnellingā¦)

Yes I couldnāt imagine Cox playing in a key position at the moment, but I canāt see a real problem with him on the wing.
Who would he be competing with in that position, Cutler, Ham & Zakarakis? Seems like a no-brainer to me given his potential upside to those 3.
