I think that Hirdy was mentoring him until recently (maybe covid stopped it?)

You have a short memory.

Joe and Stewart both went down early that year with injury and it was Smack and Brown that stood up in their place. We had some big wins against quality opponents that year and in my opinion played the best footy I have seen in over a decade.

I might be just trying to forget some of McKernan’s games. As for Brown i am absolutely trying to forget his games

I didn’t see it as being slow, he just never panicked under pressure he didn’t want to turn it over and got caught, he does the same now but has more time and strength to make the right call/get out of trouble.

For some reason i have zero concerns on Cox kicking. He did some alone practice at the end i saw him kick 4 in a row. One thing i will say 3 out 5 sessions i have gone too has been quite windy. I kind of semi-hate we keep training and kicking in those conditions.

Has anyone at the club considered some trees or a well placed hedge?

Perhaps a small seating feature for the loyal fans?

I was just naming possible key defenders.

there will be a bit of pressure on some to perform who have been here a few years.

Zerk looks to have added size. I like the cut of his jib, but the pressure will be on him and Francis to nail a spot in the best 22.

It’s a worry that Zerk has been reported to be labouring with his running a few times in pre-season already. I didn’t realise that was a problem in previous seasons.
I’d be interested to know from @nackers if that is the case or is he just in better running groups then they’ve put him in the past?

It’s a critical season for him. If he can’t nail down a spot in the backline he’ll probably be passed by the younger guys next off-season
