Training Saturday 6/6/20

Nackers. This season we have Harves coaching stoppages. Is there any apparent change or jmprovemsnt in the way we are setting up.

There seems to be a few cleaner clearances from stoppages, mainly as a result of quick hands by players like McGrath, but I haven’t looked closely enough to analyse any real changes in setup.

I thought they used Langford today Nackers more as a pure inside Mid and it worked quite well. Other than that it was pretty normal setup. McGrath should be full time Mid now. Just too good to be elsewhere

He left Brisbane to get more opportunities didn’t come to Essendon just to be a depth player

He has to be good enough to win a spot in the team.

Bellchambers didn’t earn his spot rnd 1

I certainly agree on McGrath, he looks ready to go to the next level.

Really nearly all the centre clearance players from both sides looked good though - McGrath, Shiel, Merrett, Heppell, Parish, Langford. It’s going to be hard for a few players again to get much rotation time.

People underrate Cutler

Was excellent in preseason games. Dominated in VFL game he played, then backed it up immediately after in AFL game.

I thought did a lot right vs Freo rd1 also

Anytime a player comes from another club it’s like they have to wash that stain off to some people. EFC blinkers on.

He will definitely get in the side. But it’s good to know Ham has put on some size and pressing his case also.

Having two quick hard working good using wingers we haven’t had for some time.

I think you can safely pencil in Cutler for at least round 2, I think they like what he brings to the team in size and running power.

Ham would be the second one picked out of those two.

Every time I see him he looks ripped

Langford should be played on the outside, imo. his kicking skills are best utilised there

Langford, cutler and ham rotating through the wings, zaharakis misses out. That’s what i’d be going with but no chance of it happening.

Doesn’t seem to get enough of it there, so assume they are seeing if size can play inside

I agree, fat chance of them ever dropping zaka.

he was excellent on the outside as s distributor in the pre season and found plenty. especially the west coast game

Yep not suited as an inside mid plays better on the wings where he can use his kicking skills to deliver the ball inside 50

Lav and Langford both drafted in 2014. I think we all know they aren’t getting any better…
