TV show thread (2022-?)

Not just educating kids we need more awareness, education and shows like this for adults.
The theme is quite extreme in this show but a “closed bedroom door” really got to me.
As for the love hearts and terminology kids are using these days, I’m very out of touch and I don’t think I’m alone.

What is the severance podcast called? Would like to give it a listen

It’s the Bald Move boys.

I think they call the Severance one Waffle Pod, but all their podcasts are in the same feed these days.

Thanks mate, I will check it out

Binged the poor man’s Ted lasso - running point.
Kinda funny, easy watch. That’s about it.

Binged Adolescence yesterday. It was not fun.
Good, but not fun.

High pollen count in the lounge room afterwards, and I mumbled ‘stupid bloody show’, but in context that was a compliment.

Watched e1 last night. Will probably finish it but I’m increasingly asking myself if I’m getting much from shows like this, as well made as they are. If I’m across the issues to a degree already I find it’s just bleak. At least Ken Loach brings some interesting dialogue while he’s depressing the fark out of you - not a sleight on Adolescence, it’s obviously well written and realistic.

Getting old and soft is probably the diagnosis

I finished watching episode 4 last night. I know a show is good if I’m driving to work in the morning thinking about it. It is a hard watch but I’m looking forward to continuing tonight.

I am still thinking about it weeks later, what have we become

I loved the one cut episodes.
Watching the final episode I probably missed some of the dialogue in the car because all I could think how good a driver this guy is while acting and with a camera on the front of the car. And while I wasn’t thinking about that I was screaming for them to play a damn song!

I see what you mean… :face_with_diagonal_mouth: uh well. I’m just going to watch some Parks and Recreation instead.

It’s very impressive, lots of hard, planned work, near theatre levels of performance pressure for the actors.

I never thought about it like that, but you’re dead right.

Last One Laughing UK on Prime is brilliant. For any fans of 8 out of 10 Cats you will love it - hosted by Jimmy Carr it has 10 UK comedians in a Big Brother style house for 6 hours, last one to laugh wins.

I would have lost inside 5 seconds of the Joe Wilkinson skit.

6 eps half an hour long, last two come out today.

the cast is incredible, i can’t believe they were able to get all 10 of them (well 12 i guess) at once

i thought beckett and cooper were going to be the least funny of the lot (not to say not funny at all, just less than everyone else) but they’ve been the best

i just hope it doesn’t fall apart in the last two eps like the australian one did

for those looking to embark, ep 1 starts real slow, but it absolutely kicks off in ep 2. i’d also recommend skipping the “on the next episode” bit at the end because its crazily spoiler heavy

Shhhh, it’s just magic

Watched the first two episode of the studio on apple.
First episode is ok but the second episode is great.

Hey I have obviously avoided the severance thread.

But just started watching season 2 now it has completed.(habit always wait until I can binge)

No spoilers but does it get better than the first episode?

There is a thread on blitz devoted just to this show, theories and spoilers.

I think that may answer your question
